Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega have quite a history together in their respective wrestling careers. Both men were also the top stars and the founding superstars of AEW. Although they haven’t been seen together in the same ring since Rhodes left AEW last year, the two men reunited in an upcoming Netflix anime series.
Last month, Cody Rhodes confirmed his appearance in an upcoming anime series on Netflix titled “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix”. The WWE superstar thanked the creator of the series for featuring him on his show. Now, it looks like AEW sensation Kenny Omega is also set to be a part of the series.
Kenny Omega reunites with Cody Rhodes
It looks like the wrestling world will get to see Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes reunite, albeit not in the squared circle. The two enigmas of professional wrestling are set to feature in an upcoming Netflix Original anime series titled “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix”, which is a spinoff series based on the world of the hit game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

AEW star Kenny Omega shared a video clip on platform X featuring his appearance in an upcoming anime. In the clip, he could be seen wrestling a creature in the ring. The funniest part of the video was when Omega seemed to forget a part of his speech, and his opponent had to remind him of his lines. However, the AEW star proceeded to twist his opponent’s neck and appeared to threaten the audience.

In his post, Omega also teased Cody Rhodes’ appearance in the series. It’s unknown as to whether the two superstars will share a moment together in the series, as both of their appearances seem to be brief.

Omega shed light on Keanu Reeves encounter
Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega recently took to X to shed some light on his past encounter with Keanu Reeves several years ago.
A post on X recently went viral, which celebrated the 9-year anniversary of the blockbuster movie John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves. In that post, current AEW star Kenny Omega could be seen together in a photo with Reeves. Omega responded to the post, reminiscing about sharing a fond moment with the movie star several years ago at an airport in Tokyo.

According to the 40-year-old superstar, he once met John Wick actor Keanu Reeves at an airport in Tokyo while they were both awaiting a flight back to Canada. Apparently, the two men had a brief, enjoyable chat over sushi and Coke Zero. Omega fondly recalled this memory, mentioning that he had surprisingly never heard of Reeves or The Matrix movies. He also complimented Reeves, noting that he appeared much younger than himself.
While this may come as a shock, it adds to the charm of the moment, as two megastars from their respective industries bonded without any prior knowledge of each other. The 40-year-old AEW star is currently scheduled to appear on AEW Collision this weekend. Stay tuned for further updates.
