Sadio Mane invests in Bourges Foot 18
It’s believed that Sadio Man, had been considering the idea of investing in a football club for a while. His decision to invest in Bourges 18 was significantly influenced by his relationship with the former Bourges Foot 18 president, Cheikh Sylla.
He has maintained a position of great influence at the club even before his acquisition of the club. ESPN reports that Mane sponsored some aspects of the recruitment of players into the club during this last summer’s window.
Bourges 18 is situated in central France, approximately 250 kilometres from Paris. The club has never competed higher than the French second division. Currently, Bourges 18 is positioned second from the bottom in Group B of the Championnat National.
Mane’s arrival as the new owner of the lower-league French side Bourges 18 was announced by the club on their official Facebook page. This acquisition has received the endorsement of the city’s mayor, Yann Galut.
Bourges 18 is currently in the lower half of Group B in the National 2 League, having secured only one victory in their initial seven matches of the season.
Following his introduction as the club’s new owner, Sadio Mane shared his thoughts through a video message, stating, “We’ve been working with the city for the past three years. We’re here to nurture and organise the club. The challenge is immense, but if the people of Bourges remain involved, I’m confident we can achieve our goals. I believe I’ll be visiting Bourges very soon.”
Mane secured a lucrative move to Al Nassr
Sadio Mané joined Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr on August 1. His transfer came after a challenging year at Bayern Munich, which included a suspension due to an alleged altercation with teammate Leroy Sané following Bayern’s Champions League loss to Manchester City.
Sadio Mané made the switch from Bayern Munich to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, where he currently earns approximately £650,000 per week. He signed a contract that runs until 2027, which could amount to an estimated total of £136 million if he remains with the club until the end of his contract.
Sadio Mané has been in fantastic form since joining the Saudi Pro League this summer. He has notched up eight goals and two assists in 16 matches for Al-Nassr. His next appearance is scheduled for Saturday when Al-Nassr takes on Al-Feiha.
