The team’s HC also revealed their QB is “progressing well”. Stafford completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 2,070 yards while scoring eight touchdowns along with seven interceptions this season.
Rams plan for Rypien to take the helm
The Rams earlier decided to check Matthew Stafford’s pregame condition. They were trying to have a final conclusion regarding the starter after witnessing if their QB1 can grip the ball without any restraints. Schefter reported that the team has a plan for Brett Rypien to take the helm in the match against the Packers unless Stafford surprises by waking up feeling ready.
The NFL insider later came up with another update saying Rypien has taken all the first-team reps and that he is ready for Sunday’s contest. The team is most likely to sit out their QB1 to avoid aggravating his thumb injury.

McVay earlier heaped praise on their QB2 saying he has had a strong week of practice. He enjoyed his previous season with the Denver Broncos and is 2-1 as a starter. The 27-year-old threw for 42 yards on 5-of-10 passing while scoring no touchdowns and interceptions in the Rams’ last week’s match against the Cowboys.
