Stephen A. Smith trolls Cowboys fans comparing them to ‘cockroaches’ from private plane after leaving the Eagles game

Following the arrival of former FS1 co-host Shannon Sharpe in the “First Take” show, Stephen A. Smith and ESPN are having good times as the show witnessed a huge growth in viewership in the last few months. After parting ways with Skip Bayless and Fox Sports, Sharpe has also been having good times with his new co-host.

Aside from enjoying the company of Sharpe, Smith has another favorite job is dissing the Cowboys team and also their quarterback Dak Prescott. Getting embroiled in an ugly altercation with the team’s fanbase is nothing new for him, and he got the chance to exercise the habit once again following the Cowboys’ recent loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Stephen A. Smith compares Cowboys fans to ‘cockroaches’

Jalen Hurts’ Philly squad improved to 8-1 by securing a 28-23 win over the Cowboys. The win gave Smith a chance to diss the team’s fan base, whom he once labeled as the worst thing on the planet.

The ESPN host was watching the week 9 matchup from a private suite, and following Philly’s blow to the Cowboys, he posted a video on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, saying he made the video to instigate the team’s fan base while labeling them as “cockroaches”.

“Since those Cowboys fans are like cockroaches. A nuclear bomb can drop, and some of them survived. I know that they didn’t want to see this video of me right now, and that’s why I made it,” he said while laughing mockingly into the camera, via the NY Post.

Days ago, Ryan Clark hilariously poked fun at Smith due to his intense hate for the Dallas-based franchise, but that didn’t stop him from continuing his jab toward them. The veteran continued his dig while pointing out the mistakes the team made in Sunday’s match.

“You thought you were going to do it, didn’t you? You thought you were going to do it. But then an offside penalty, another penalty, an incomplete pass, and there you have it, you lost the game—and as a result and all likelihood, you lost your chances at the division crown.”

While the Cowboys may find themselves rather disheartened with a 5-3 record, missing the opportunity to establish dominance over their divisional counterpart, a promising encounter looms on December 10, offering them a chance for redemption. Moreover, the team can take solace in the fact that they are set to confront the league’s underdog teams—the New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Carolina Panthers—in their forthcoming fixtures.

Stephen A. Smith speaks on Dak Prescott following tough loss

In the Cowboys’ ninth-week defeat at the hands of the Eagles, Prescott admirably fulfilled his role on the offensive front, completing 29 of 44 passes for 374 yards, in addition to notching three touchdowns. Despite Smith’s strong aversion to the quarterback and the Cowboys squad, he did not refrain from showering commendation upon the QB during his “First Take” broadcast on Monday.

The ESPN personality who repeatedly bashed Dak as a “failure” said the 5-point loss didn’t happen due to the QB’s performance. He said the signal-caller showcased his caliber and stepped up well in the O-line.

“I don’t think this is the day for me to say, ‘It’s on Dak. I will tell you this, I don’t blame him. I thought that he played a great game. Dak Prescott stepped up and showed what he is capable of.”

Nevertheless, Smith indeed threw digs at the Cowboys’ run game while saying their running back Tony Pollard hasn’t recorded a 100-yard rushing game since Week 3. However, this marks the second time within months the host gushed about Prescott. He raved about the team’s QB following his stellar performance against the Los Angeles Rams and also drew a comparison between Dak and Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, saying the Cowboys star overshadowed the Eagles’ vet in recent games.

Prescott scored 25 of 31 passes for 304 yards and recorded four touchdowns for a QB rating of 133.7 in that match.
