WWE updates CM Punk’s official alumni profile amid rumors of ex-AEW star returning at Survivor Series

Former WWE and former AEW superstar, CM Punk has been dropping tease of his WWE return for fans. Although his hints are quite subtle, the fans are still smart enough to find the clues that he provides. Since his termination from the AEW, fans have been eager to see the superstar inside the WWE ring.

Punk was the only one to tease his return to the WWE Universe until now. However, WWE has taken the first step toward teasing Punk’s return by updating his alumni profile, which had not been updated in nine years.

WWE updated CM Punk’s profile

On July 15, 2014, CM Punk was moved from the active roster to the alumni roster on WWE’s official website without being released. Later that day, The Second City Saint expressed gratitude to his fans without mentioning WWE.

After that, Punk announced that he was retiring from professional wrestling. Later, he pursued a career in MMA but was unable to get the expected results by changing his career path. He then did sports commentary for two years. However, The Second City Saint managed to make his comeback in professional wrestling by signing with All Elite Wrestling. Sadly, the superstar was terminated in August of this year’s promotion by Tony Khan because of a backstage brawl.

After getting released from the company, Punk has teased his return to WWE on several occasions. Recently, he even revealed his meeting details with two WWE board members on Instagram. Till now, WWE has been denying his return rumors, but their recent update on the official website tells a different story.

A WWE fan recently posted that WWE has updated CM Punk’s alumni profile page on their official website. The fan shared a picture of the updated proof on X. This tweet went viral within minutes and has been surfacing on the internet since yesterday. This update has got the fans excited, and they are eagerly waiting for his comeback.

CM Punk is rumored to make an appearance in Survivor Series

Ever since CM Punk got terminated from AEW, his return to WWE is expected by fans. For the past few months, his return rumors have gained some momentum, as The Second City Saint has revealed that he is frequently teasing his return to the Stamford-based promotion. Punk recently teased a WWE logo while doing commentary on an MMA fight show. However, no confirmation has been given from WWE about his return.

Previously, it was reported that CM Punk wanted to return to WWE, but the company turned down his offer, and they don’t want him for now. It was also stated that things could still change between Punk and WWE if Punk agreed to the conditions set by the company. Later, it was reported by many news portals that Punk is expected to return to the WWE Survivor Series 2023 PLE.

BWE has recently provided an update on this matter on their Twitter account, where it was mentioned that Punk recently had a meeting scheduled with WWE board members, and the backstage team is also positive about his comeback at the upcoming event.

“Punk was recently scheduled for a call with a few board members. The backstage feeling is that it’s happening. Doesn’t mean it’s done. I am waiting for the follow-up on the call. It should be the last step before things go down. Now pace yourselves. Those few weeks will be a ruckus. There have been numerous teases on TV and social media. They will milk it like crazy. So enjoy it until I get a solid answer.” wrote BWE.
