Former Colts Super Bowl champ Matt Ulrich’s fundraiser surpasses $30,000 to aid widow and four children

The name Matt Ulrich disappeared from the NFL world many years ago, yet the fact that the name could be erased from the world so quickly, was totally unacceptable for the NFL community. The former NFL legendary player recently breathed his last, leaving a bereaved family, comprising his beloved wife and four children.

Following the ending of his football career, Ulrich’s life was concentrated on his family, hence all his fans can do for him is to support his family to convey their last love for the legend.

Fundraiser for Matt Ulrich exceeds $30,000

Matt Ulrich left his wife, Alison, and four children in Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau, accepting death at an early age. Soon after the astonishing news reached his fans, a campaign named, “GiveSendGo” was launched by friends of the family on Wednesday.

All the money raised will be handed over directly to Alison. Over the past 18 hours, the fund raised more than $30,000.

“As a way for the community to support Alison, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau as they navigate forward, this GiveSendGo campaign has been formed to help people get involved. All funds will go directly to the Ulrich boys. Thank you for the continued prayers, support, love, and lifting of their family,” the description of the fund read.

Apart from this fund, Tom McMakin, the CEO of Profitable Ideas Exchange, donated $20k to the former defensive lineman’s family, per TMZ. After his football career, Ulrich used to work at McMakin’s company, prompting the CEO to come out as a support for the former player’s family.

When did Ulrich win Super Bowl with Colts?

The 41-year-old was a bright star in college football, playing at Northwestern on a football scholarship. There he was a three-year starter on the offensive line who assisted the team to two bowl games and a Big Ten title in 2000.

The team captain as a senior in 2004 at Northwestern, went undrafted in the 2005 NFL draft. Later, the Indianapolis Colts added him to their roster as an undrafted free agent shortly after the draft.

For the Indy, he just took part in 10 games throughout his two-year career in Indianapolis. The former Colts player was the Colts’ supportive defense weapon in their Super Bowl XLI win, besides Peyton Manning in 2006.

After so many years, Matt Ulrich came back into the spotlight, yet this time the former could not see his name in the news headline. The reason behind his death is yet to be made public.

Colts’ owner Jim Isray, who recently voiced for the NFL refeere’s controversial decision, shared a heartfelt message after his demise.

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ.  My prayers to his family. 🙏”

Our condolences and support go to the former Colts player’s family.
