Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet share a very deep bond with each other, and their constant loving attitude has prompted people to ask Verstappen and Kelly about plans for their marriage. Kelly Piquet is always supportive of Max and she was clearly discomforted from the fact that he was booed on podium during the US GP weekend.
However, there is one aspect of their life that is left untouched and seldom talked about. It is their daughter Penelope Kvyat. She is often beside her parents in celebrations and family pics but public hardly knows about her relationship with Max Verstappen.
Max Verstappen opens up about bond with Penelope Kvyat
Penelope is the 4 year old daughter of Daniel Kvyat and Kelly Piquet, her first boyfriend whom she left to get together with Verstappen. Considering the circumstances it would obvious to think that they would have a difficult time together, although, Max Verstappen and Penelope get along very well. Penelope can be seen frolicking and playing around with Max on a lot of occasions.
Penelope is often considered the youngest F1 fan ever as she already travels the world to watch Max Verstappen’s races. Moreover, she even does karting with both Max and Kvyat. Penelope has been influenced by F1 from a very young age.
She has a very supportive father figure in form of Max and his feelings towards Penelope are visible in Max’s words, “I’m not the father, that’s not the aim,” says Verstappen. “It’s always very important that she has a good relationship with her own father, which she has. But I see her every day when I’m at home. We get on very well. She’s very cute.”
This goes on to reflect the maturity and constant mental care Max aims to provide Penelope, further, making their relationship stronger.
Verstappen opens up about childhood challenges
Max Verstappen was born in a racing family as he had both his mother and father, who were well established racing drivers. The exposure within his family was enough to get Max’ attention towards racing and eventually he ended up karting even before the age of 5.
Once, Jos Verstappen took hold of Max’ interests he made sure to bring out the very best in him by any means possible, even if it meant being strict. Max opened up to Time, speaking about his exhausting and focused childhood giving hints of the various difficulties he had to face in order to become the perfect champion he is today.
“From a young age, I saw other kids running around, playing, not really thinking about the future,” said Max. “But my dad, he had a plan. And I had to stick to the plan.”
He even had to race during heavy rain or go on racing karts for up to 13 hour-long sessions. The intense pressure from his dad to get the best out of every weekend often led to some tense moments, and arguments between the duo. “Sometimes he thought I was a bit lazy,” said Max. “I definitely had arguments with my dad about it,” Max Verstappen recollected his past while speaking in the interview.
While many fans booed Max Verstappen for winning continuously, it is unfair to him after finally conquering the challenges he has encountered from a young age.
