After prevailing against LA Knight at Crown Jewel last week, it looks like the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is set to go on yet another hiatus, as it was recently confirmed that he would not be working this year’s Survivor Series event. Despite that, The Tribal Chief took to social media to promote the Elimination Chamber event, urging fans to purchase tickets.
It’s a known fact nowadays that Roman Reigns hardly puts his Universal title on the line. With a title reign of 1000+ days, Reigns has been dominating WWE’s landscape for the last few years. However, as days go by, the number of his appearances on weekly television gets lesser and lesser.
Roman Reigns potentially confirms PLE appearance
After the fall of The Bloodline, Roman Reigns has been making significantly lesser appearances on both live television and PLEs. In fact, Reigns has not been advertised to appear at Survivor Series this month, which is supposed to be one of the biggest PLEs in WWE.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), The Tribal Chief promoted the Elimination Chamber PLE that is taking place at Perth, Australia in February 2024. He retweeted WWE’s announcement of ticket sales, where he encouraged fans to get their tickets for the event and acknowledge him.
For Roman Reigns to promote an event which he won’t be a part of seems pretty unlikely to fans. Some even came up with an interesting theory where Reigns’ prolonged periods of absence might lead to Triple H announcing that the Undisputed WWE Champion may have to defend his title inside the Chamber. If this does end up happening, it would be The Tribal Chief’s biggest challenge yet.
Reigns not scheduled for WWE Survivor Series
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the Stamford-based promotion would be conducting its Survivor Series PLE this month without their Undisputed Universal Champion.
“Reigns is not scheduled for Survivor Series, which is notable because it’s considered a big four event. He defends at Crown Jewel and his next scheduled PPV match won’t be until Royal Rumble”, said Meltzer.
Although a match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins was highly anticipated among fans, WWE seems to be moving in a different direction as Seth Rollins has been added in a 5-On-5 matchup between the Judgement Day against other babyfaces such as Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.
With Roman Reigns not appearing at the show, there have been a few speculations here and there about CM Punk possibly making his triumphant return at the event. However, it’s a mere speculation as of now. It’s yet to be seen whether the Second City Saint actually ends up making his long-awaited return to the company.
