Travis Kelce defends Josh Allen’s controversial taunting call calling labeling it as “bogus” after Bills NFL Week 9 loss to Bengals

Though the Buffalo Bills have been retaining a struggling season, their player Josh Allen’s efforts to lead them in the front line are obvious due to his MVP-level performance. In the middle of an injury-prone stint, the starter has already garnered attention from the league’s former player, who sees the quarterback in the upper level with Cincinnati Bengals hero Joe Burrow.

As the Bills are gearing up to claim their presence in the Super Bowl run this season, in their way, they are scheduled to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Prior to the nail-biting match, Chiefs TE Travis Kelce let the NFL community know his point of view regarding Allen’s controversial taunting call.

Travis Kelce defends Josh Allen’s controversial taunting call

During Bills Sunday’s 24-18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Josh Allen unveiled one of his unknown personalities before the NFL community, featuring a taunting gesture at Bengals safety Nick Scott that he picked up on the two-yard touchdown during the first quarter.

While this move remained unwelcome by many football fans and players, Kelce presented his impudent step by backing Bill’s star. Mentioning the criticism as “bull****”, the tight end felt motivated to hold himself on Allen’s side, which he affirmatively stated in his latest New Heights podcast episode.

“One of the weakest taunting calls you’ve ever seen? Probably. I’m not sure if I’ve seen too many of them… I think it’s bogus. I’m on Josh’s team on this. This is bull****.”

The Bill’s starter was flagged shortly after the move, leading his team to swallow a 15-yard penalty. The penalty was somewhat irrelevant for Travis which stunned the player, who was wondering why a player is not allowed to point the finger at another player while many aggressive plays remain unnoticed by the referees.

“Who is struggling right now, is my guy Josh Allen. And he was struggling with this taunting penalty. Man, it’s f***** up, man. You can’t point at a guy? … This is so f****** wack.”

Prior to Kelce, even the NFL community conveyed their frustration over the decision of the refs, claiming the penalty call was controversial. This season, the refs have been showcasing one of their most unpleasant sides while making decisions that received suggestions from the New York Jets’ star Aaron Rodgers.

Josh Allen speaks on Bills defense after Bengals loss

The Bills confronted one of their worst nightmares in their 24-18 loss to the Bengals on Sunday at Paycor Stadium. Meanwhile, Josh Allen was not shy about admitting their unsuccessful move to work on the opportunities they had during the game.

“Just finding a way to get into a rhythm. Come out on an opening drive, had some success moving the ball and obviously hit a lull there and didn’t score until late in the fourth. We had our opportunities, [but] didn’t score before the half, didn’t get six on the first drive of the second half,” he said, per NFL.com.

Nevertheless, in the eyes of Allen, it was not “complementary football” that could contribute to a win, beating their rivals in a convincing way.

“That’s not complementary football…In order to win, you’ve got to stop yourself from losing, and we didn’t do that.”

He completed 26 of 38 passes for 258 yards, one touchdown, and one interception during the game.

The Bills will square off against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium on Monday Night Football. Let’s see how their starter answers his critics, putting forward another stunning performance.
