Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan puts Max Verstappen over Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost in GOAT conversation

Max Verstappen’s remarkable talent behind the wheel has impressed several experts in the industry. His aggressive and fearless driving style, coupled with an extreme ability to extract maximum performance from his car, has set him apart as one of the most skilled drivers on the F1 grid.

In an interview, Eddie Jordan compared the Dutchman to several legends of the Industry, predicting that, in the future, Verstappen is more likely to shatter several records and leave an extraordinary legacy in the industry.

Eddie Jordan believes Max Verstappen will retire as GOAT

Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan believes that Max Verstappen is on his way to becoming the Grand Prix’s GOAT—”the greatest of all time”.

Debating about the greatest Formula One driver can be quite challenging, as many factors, including the driver’s merit, his contribution to the industry, the era in which he achieved the victories and the overall competitive landscape of the sport, are discussed.

It is, therefore, extremely difficult to draw comparisons between drivers, especially when they are from different generations or eras.

Many legendary drivers, such as Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, and Alain Prost have been compared to Verstappen’s driving skills. However, the 26-year-old’s driving skills exceed human capabilities.

Jordan has labeled the Dutchman “unbeatable,” marking his extraordinary sportsmanship on the grid, regardless of his several wins. He said, “For me, I do believe in time, he will turn out to be the greatest driver of all time, subject to him being safe and well for a very long time,”

Furthermore, he added, “Because he has such a phenomenal attitude in the car. He’s aggressive when he needs to be aggressive. He’s tough when he needs to be tough.

“But he’s clever as well. He knows how to look after the car.”

Fate of Jordan’s F1 team

Jordan Grand Prix was a Formula One constructor that competed from 1991 to 2005. The team was named after Irish businessman and founder Eddie Jordan.

However, in 2005, the team was sold to Midland Group, which competed for one final season as “Jordan” before renaming the team MF1Racing for the entire 2006 season. Later, in the same year, it was sold to the Dutch manufacturer, Spyker, to become Spyker F1 for the 2007 season, only to be sold again to become Force India in 2008.

In 2018, due to the financial downfall of Force India and its subsequent acquisition by a consortium headed by Lawrence Stroll, the team’s FIA entry was not transferred, leading to the end of the Jordan Grand Prix’s final entry.
