Naoya Inoue holds a position as one of the world’s top pound-for-pound boxers. Contrary to this, Floyd Mayweather believes Gervonta Davis deserves a higher ranking than Inoue, suggesting that Davis’ affiliation with Mayweather might be the reason he isn’t placed higher in the rankings.
In an impressive demonstration of both skill and determination, Inoue achieved yet another victory last week by overcoming Stephen Fulton. This win not only extends his remarkable streak of wins but also solidifies Inoue’s reputation as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of his era.

According to Mayweather, Davis doesn’t receive the recognition he deserves due to his association with Mayweather himself. In a recent interview, ‘Money’ talked about many aspects of boxing including the P4P debate.
âWhen is Gervonta Davis going to go in the pound-for-pound list? Does Naoya Inoue deserve it? Absolutely. Does Terence Crawford? Absolutely. But what about Gervonta Davis? [They donât give him that credit] because he was affiliated with me,â Floyd said.
The undefeated retired boxer also highlighted in order to settle a debate, Naoya should consider fighting in the United States. Floyd suggested that Inoue should undergo blood and urine testing and engage in a catchweight bout against Tank to determine the superior pound-for-pound fighter between the two.

Floyd Mayweather offers thoughts on Naoya Inoue vs Stephen Fulton
The Japanese boxer showcased his dominance throughout the entire match against Fulton, consistently outperforming his American opponent over eight rounds.
In his interview, Mayweather also discussed Naoya’s most recent fight. Despite Inoue’s triumph over ‘Cool Boy Stef,’ Floyd hinted at Stef’s lack of heavy punching power, underestimating the brilliance of Naoya’s performance.
âHeâs [Fultton] a good boxer. So everything is about timing. I want âCool Boy Stefâ to hold his head high. Iâm proud of him. Any true champion can take a loss and bounce back. ” Floyd added.
