Jets fan fails to recognize Aaron Rodgers after chance encounter at Aria entrance: “do you even know who that is?”

Aaron Rodgers served the Green Bay Packers for almost two decades with his MVP-level performance. The New York Jets expected the same level of performance from the four-time MVP when they made a bold move to acquire him ahead of the 2023 NFL season.

Rodgers showcased every potential to bring a Super Bowl title to the Big Apple in his debut year. However, the signal-caller became a victim of a season-ending injury, leaving the starter spot to Zach Wilson. A-Rod is now out of football activities, and a lucky fan got the chance to have an encounter with him in the meantime.

Aaron Rodgers surprises fan in chance encounter

The Jets have showcased a bounce-back performance lately after getting embroiled in a losing streak at the start of the season. Though Wilson has been failing to live up to the expectations as a QB1, the team’s fans will cheer for them everywhere.

A lucky Jets fan was roaming in the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas donning Gang Green’s jersey, and had a surprising encounter with Rodgers who praised him for the jersey choice. The boy later posted a photo of him with the Jets QB captioned, “‘Someone taps me on the shoulder, ”Nice jersey bro,’ Jets by a million tomorrow. I’m in shock right now. #TakeFlight'”

The fan shared the story with MLFootball, saying he was walking through the Aria entrance/mezzanine, and A-Rod said, “Nice jersey, man” while passing him in the spot. The boy assumed Rodgers was another Jets fan and said, ‘Yessir go jets!’ However, he discovered it was Aaron when a guy from the hall yelled, ‘DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO THAT IS?’ and chased him down to take a picture.

The fan heaped praise on the signal-caller’s personality, saying he was a nice person, and mentioned the vet gave him a real head nod as he wished for the QB’s early recovery. The boy disclosed to the source that he dressed up as Aaron on Halloween.

Rodgers debunks the bong theory

Besides rehabbing from his torn Achilles, Aaron has been a regular spectator in the Jets match. However, his recent appearance in the Jets match against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night stirred a new controversy.

The signal-caller was seen having conversations with some reporters on the sidelines and even went in to give a hug before picking up a package from someone. However, the package became a point of discussion as a bong-like bottle was found on the ground during the game, which came out of the package.

Rodgers gets to clear up rumors about him on his regular appearance on the Pat McAfee show. He did so in his recent appearance on the show by clarifying that the bong-like bottle was a Maestro Dobel Tequila that he got as a gift from an ESPN reporter.

“That was not a bong. This gentleman named John Sutcliffe. He’s the ESPN sideline reporter and he’s tried to interview me in Spanish a few times with some funny results. It’s partly his fault because I was walking off the field with my Maestro Dobel tequila that John Sutcliffe gives me every time he sees me on MNF,” he said via SportsKeeda.

The four-time MVP laughed off the conspiracy theory but mentioned that half of the tequila was dropped as the bottle fell to the ground.

“So, I turn over and there’s Hugh, my buddy. I see Hugh, give him a hug, dap him up, and go to pick it back up. Sh*t (Tequila) falls out. I lose half my tequila. Shoutout to Bongs everywhere but that was not one of them.”

The Jets QB made fun of the whole speculation by suggesting alternatives like dolphin semen or the New York Giants’ tears. However, many fans even went to such an extent that they believed the bong was the secret behind A-Rod’s recovery and potential return to the game in mid-December.
