Cristiano Ronaldo eyeing new milestone nearing 900 career goals as Al-Nassr advances in Arab Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of football’s greatest goalscorers, and that’s a laudable achievement because he did not start out as a striker. The Portuguese spent his teenage years at Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United as a winger before transitioning into a more prominent goalscorer in his latter years at Manchester United.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner developed into an all-round forward at Real Madrid, breaking record after record and eventually becoming the club’s record goalscorer with 450 goals. Ronaldo is nearing another career milestone after starting his season with Al-Nassr very brightly, scoring match-winning goals for the Saudi club.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s scoring streak continues

Cristiano Ronaldo is an established goalscorer with milestones achieved all over Europe, and that has carried over to Saudi Arabia. In his first and second spell at Manchester United, the 38-year-old Portuguese forward scored 145 goals and 64 assists in 346 appearances. At Real Madrid, he tallied an unreal number of 450 goals.

Ronaldo’s ability to score continued into his time with Juventus, where he scored another 101 goals. With Al Nassr, the GOAT (according to many) has scored 17 goals in 23 appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the Arab Club Champions Cup quarter-final against Raja CA. The 38-year-old goal merchant netted once as Al Nassr defeated Raja CA by three goals to nothing. In the previous match against Zamalek, he also scored despite the match ending in a stalemate.

CR7  also delivered a masterclass against Monastir as he registered his name on the scoresheet.

The 38-year-old goal merchant is clearly hot on goalscoring, which appears he will only continue until he reaches a new mark.

Al-Nassr’s success in Arab Cup reflects a milestone achievement

Al-Nassr has been striding to the top of Arab football since Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club. The Riyadh-based club lost the Saudi Pro League to Al-Ittihad last season by a very small margin, but since then, they’ve been reaching for the very top of Arab football.

According to Transfermarket, Al-Nassr made it to the semi-finals of the regional competition for the first time since the turn of the century. The last time they were even close was in 1995 when they lost to Al Hilal on penalties. Now, the club has clearly come a long way. They made it to the semi-final after beating Raja Casablanca 3-1.
