Liverpool have already lost a handful of first-team starters to the Saudi Pro League. Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, and Fabinho have succumbed to the enticing offers of Saudi Arabian clubs. However, there are reports that Saudi aren’t done with Liverpool just yet.
Al Ittihad are planning another major swoop for Mohamed Salah, whose presence on the team is of immense value to Jurgen Klopp. Al Ittihad has a £60 million offer lined up for the transfer of the 31-year-old Egyptian talisman, Mohamed Salah, but Liverpool are reluctant to push through with this offer.
Steven Gerrard responds to Mohamed Salah transfer rumours
Steven Gerrard is arguably one of the greatest legends of Liverpool. Born in Merseyside, the Liverpool legend played from 1998 to 2015 for Liverpool. In his trophy cabinet for Liverpool, Gerrard has nine trophies, including the UEFA Champions League and multiple FA Cups. However, Gerrard never managed to win the Premier League.
Steven Gerrard has made it clear that he does not want to see Mohamed Salah, a soon-to-be Liverpool legend, in the Saudi Pro League. It is reported by Mirrors that the Saudi side, Al Ittihad, who have already snatched Fabinho from Liverpool, and signed other superstars like Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante are ready to cast their net once again to the Merseyside, and now with no Mercy. They are looking to trap one of Liverpool’s big fishes, Mohamed Salah.
Mohamed Salah is 31 years old and still a very valuable player for Liverpool. Some even argue that he’ll go on to become a Liverpool legend. Hence, it is not far-fetched that Steven Gerrard does not want him in Saudi or rather does not want him to leave Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard was recently appointed as the manager of Al-Ettifaq. When asked if he would consider a big swoop for the prolific Liverpool forward, he said emphatically: “No. The answer is no because Mohamed Salah is my favourite player, I love Liverpool Football Club, so Mohamed can stay where he is. When he wins more leagues and more Champions Leagues with Liverpool, we’ll maybe consider it.”

Al-Ittihad seeking to capture Mohamed Salah
You go to Walmart or Amazon when you need home appliances and gadgets, but the Saudi Pro League goes to Liverpool when they need key team players! Liverpool have already lost Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, and Jordan Henderson to the Saudi Pro League, will they capture Mohamed Salah too?
Jurgen Klopp’s preparation for the new season has been badly hampered with unexpected first-team player departures but losing the talismanic Salah would be the biggest blow so far.
Al Ittihad is somewhat determined to land the player as they have already prepared a salary worth £180m for a two-year contract, while Liverpool would receive £60m in transfer fee. However, Mo Salah’s representative has maintained that the 31-year-old Liverpool forward will remain at the club this summer. Ramy Abbas said on X; “If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer,” Ramy Abbas Issa continued. “Mohamed remains committed to LFC.”
It is clear that Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp do not want the 31-year-old talisman to leave for Saudi Arabia this summer, despite their enticing offer. Mo Salah remains a valuable player on the team, and Liverpool will only consider selling the player only if he wants to leave.
