Throughout the years, a consistent pattern has emerged: irrespective of the records shattered and created, and notwithstanding the opinions weighing in on the perennial Messi-Ronaldo debate, it appears that the ongoing contest is destined to persist among their unwavering fan bases.
Harry Kane recently shared an insightful perspective on his preferred teammate while making waves and setting records at Bayern Munich. The 30-year-old English football sensation provided a candid take on his ideal playing partner, shedding light on the dynamics that contributed to his success with the German powerhouse.
Harry Kane picks his dream teammate
The 30-year-old captain of the English national team made his move to Bayern Munich during the summer, and he’s now sharing the pitch with some of the brightest stars in German football.
Teaming up with the likes of Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies, Thomas Muller, and Jamal Musiala, he’s now part of the formidable lineup at Bayern.
Back at Tottenham, Kane was a familiar face among notable players such as Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker, and Dele Alli, not to mention a brief stint alongside Gareth Bale.
While donning the Three Lions jersey on international duty, Wayne Rooney, Jude Bellingham, and Raheem Sterling have all shared the pitch with Kane.
Choosing the best teammate from such a talented pool would undoubtedly be a challenge for the 30-year-old. However, when asked about his dream teammate beyond his current connections, Kane revealed to ESPN that he’d love to share the field with none other than the legendary Lionel Messi.
He explained, “I’d love to play with Messi. One of the greatest players to ever play our game. I’m sure he’d be able to give me a few assists!”
Harry Kane very well picked Lionel Messi as his preferred teammate but he made it clear in a separate interview with ESPN that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are his inspiration for excellence.
“I think of what they’ve done, they are as good in their 30s as they were in their 20s.
“Me just turning 30 now, it obviously gives me excitement to know if I keep my body in good shape, and I keep my mentality right, I could be playing at the highest level for as long as I want to do it.
“Those players have set the bar – those and a few others as well. It just motivates me and tells me that it’s possible [to keep playing].
Harry Kane names David Beckham his boyhood hero
In an interview, Harry Kane was asked about his childhood hero, and without hesitation, he expressed his profound admiration for David Beckham. While it’s true that their playing styles differ, one common thread between these football superstars is their shared passion for scoring goals.
David Beckham was renowned for his proficiency in scoring set-piece goals, a skill that set him apart. On the other hand, Harry Kane, though not as prolific in free-kick goals, shares a common love for finding the back of the net, showcasing a different facet of their goal-scoring prowess.
Evidence of the connection between Kane and Beckham’s affinity became apparent when a photo emerged online featuring a young Kane alongside Kate, his partner, and Beckham. Remarkably, this snapshot captured a moment when both Kane and Kate were just 12 years old, highlighting the enduring bond between the two football stars.
