Ever since James Harden’s departure from the Houston Rockets in 2021, many have been eagerly waiting for the former MVP to find his groove with a new team. However, Harden’s road to settling in hasn’t been smooth sailing. Recently, the Brooklyn Nets star found himself in the spotlight once again, this time for his response to criticism from the Dallas Mavericks announcer, Brian Dameris.
Heading into a game against the Mavericks, Harden had been under scrutiny for his performance on the court, which hadn’t been up to his usual high standards. During the previous game against the Mavs, Dameris had called attention to Harden’s struggles, igniting a fiery response from the dynamic shooting guard.
James Harden responds to Dameris’ criticism
Days after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Brian Dameris, James Harden has finally clapped back at the Mavericks announcer. Harden, who has been struggling to find his best form since leaving the Rockets, has yet to settle in with a new team. However, he responded to Dameris’ criticism with a fierce determination to set the record straight.
In a recent interview, James Harden fired back at the Mavs broadcaster, stating, “He doesn’t know me or the situation. That would be f*cked up if I went at him and started being disrespectful to him but I can’t. They don’t know anything. They just go off what they see on social media or hearsay.”
Bally Sports Southwest analyst Brian Dameris gained significant attention when he dismantled Harden’s entire career in a since-deleted video. In just two minutes, Dameris highlighted Harden’s tendency to get his way on previous teams before demanding trades. Although the video was removed, it continues to circulate on various platforms.
Unfortunately for Harden, success has eluded him since joining the Clippers – his fourth team in 2021. The team’s record stands at 0-5 with Harden in the lineup, while his individual statistics reflect averages of 15 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, shooting 47.1% from the field.
Despite ongoing challenges faced by the Clippers, James Harden strives to contribute to the team’s success, determined to silence his critics both on and off the court. As for Brian, he has his criticisms to face.
Bally Sports Southwest deletes the viral footage
Days after getting smoked, Dallas Mavericks announcer Brian Dameris found himself at the center of controversy when Bally Sports Southwest deleted a viral video in which he criticized James Harden, now with the Clippers.
Dameris calmly and methodically dissected Harden’s history, highlighting his problematic nature and questionable behavior. In the video, Dameris compared Harden to a bad roommate, explaining that Harden might be the source of his own problems rather than those around him.
“Listen, James, have you ever had those friends who had bad roommates? Over and over again they complained about their bad roommates. ‘This guy’s terrible.’ They never thought to be self-aware enough that they’re the bad roommate; they’re the problem. Hey, James, YOU’RE the problem, ” he said.
“There’s not going to be anybody left because James, you’re not The Beard, you’re not the system—you’re the problem.” Dameris didn’t resort to name-calling or inappropriate language; he simply presented the facts and provided an accurate summary of Harden’s recent behavior.
However, despite the validity of his statements, the Mavericks’ official Bally Sports Southwest Twitter account mysteriously removed the video after it gained widespread attention.
The video’s deletion raises questions about the Mavericks’ stance on expressing opinions and whether they were hesitant to expose their former player in such a public manner. Nonetheless, Dameris’ critique struck a chord with many, provoking discussions about the impact of star players’ attitudes on team dynamics. Whether intentional or not, the removal of the video has only intensified curiosity and speculation surrounding the Mavericks’ handling of the situation.
