The event will build on the ‘Battle of the Baddest’ event that happened on October 28, 2023.

Anthony Joshua will headline the event against Otto Wallin, with other big names like Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, Daniel Dubois, Jarrell Miller, Dmitry Bivol, and Jai Opetaia also fighting in the undercard. The event will conclude the 2023 Riyadh Season.

Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller reignited their rivalry during a recent press conference for the upcoming ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing event in Riyadh on December 23. Joshua is scheduled to fight Otto Walin whilst Miller and Dubois are set to fight.

Miller was scheduled to fight Joshua before in 2019. However, an unfortunate doping violation resulted in the bout never materializing. Miller is an undefeated professional boxer who has also dabbled in kickboxing. Joshua, who was the unified boxing champion, lost the belts to Oleksandr Usyk.

At the press conference, Miller and Joshua engaged in a heated exchange of words after Miller accused Joshua of ducking himself and the former WBC heavyweight champion, “The Bronze Bomber” Deontay Wilder. “Fuck Jarrel Miller”, said a typically composed Joshua. Interestingly, Wilder is taking on Joseph Parker at the same event.

The heated exchange has sparked renewed interest in the event. Boxing has been devoid of heated rivalries recently, and the incident at the press conference is undoubtedly good for the sport. Nevertheless, it has the potential to happen after December 23 event, ‘Day of Reckoning’. With Jarrell Miller confronting Joshua about ducking Widler, Joshua gave a fitting reply. “Yeah I do. Good luck to him with what he’s doing on Dec 23rd. I see us fighting 100%.”, Joshua said in an interview given to DAZN Boxing of his speculated fight with Deontay Wilder.

Wilder has not fought since October of 2022 when he knocked out Robert Helenius after consecutive losses to Tyson Fury. Incidentally, Joshua in his latest bout defeated Helenius via KO in August of 2023. There was a time when Joshua and Wilder held all-important heavyweight titles. However, that distinction now goes to Fury and Usyk. They are fighting in Riyadh to become the undisputed champion in February 2024.
