Recently, the speculations surrounding LaVine’s trade rumor became more intensified when the LA Lakers started having bad results in the ongoing NBA in-season games.
However, the connection between the Chicago Bulls and their star player, Zach LaVine, seems to be becoming more intricate amid ongoing trade speculations. This became apparent once again following their recent triumph over the Miami Heat on Saturday, which made enthusiasts begin to suggest his next destination.
LaVine’s actions upset Bulls’ front office
The Chicago Bulls are grappling with a discontented star in the form of Zach LaVine, who is becoming increasingly challenging for the franchise to manage as the two-time All-Star eagerly anticipates a trade. While his teammates celebrated on the court, LaVine moved straight to the locker room.
Cameras captured a moment of frustration as he pulled his arm away from Beth Esler, the Bulls’ public relations director, who was trying to arrange a post-game interview with the flagship television station.
During the Post-game briefing, LaVine addressed the incident, stating, “Just a miscommunication with the PR team. We’re all fine.” Despite his efforts to play down the situation, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that, “the front office was made aware of the situation immediately and was less than thrilled with LaVine’s actions.”
Zach LaVine further justified his walking away from the court after the game, when he said, “I’m happy we got a win. We play these [Miami] guys in a couple of days. You don’t want to just sit around and celebrate. I’d rather celebrate in the locker room.”
However, LaVine who currently averages 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists this season, is anticipating a trade to his next franchise as the Bulls are set to reshape their roster.
Lakers among Zach LaVine’s top Choices for Landing Spots
Days after reports indicated the Lakers’ interest in Zach LaVine and other guards, a new report suggests a mutual interest. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers are one of three preferred destinations for LaVine.
“LaVine and his representation hold several preferred landing spots, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers”.
This aligns with LaVine’s previous expressions of his likeness for the Lakers, notably before his free agency last year. His fondness for the city, coupled with his UCLA ties, strengthens the connection. The inclusion of the Lakers, Miami, and the Sixers in the preferred list isn’t surprising, as these teams are often in the mix for notable players.
The Sixers, in particular, have recently acquired assets, making them potential contenders in the trade market. The ongoing trade saga involving LaVine might only be starting, especially if the Bulls choose to overlook his preferences and trade him to a destination of their choice.
A recent example of this is Damian Lillard’s situation, indicating that a similar scenario could unfold for LaVine.
