It is an emphatic truth that Novak Djokovic’s fitness and flexibility have helped him climb to the World No. 1 ranking. Not only can the Serbian play and win the longest matches the game has ever seen like the 2012 Australian Open Final and Wimbledon 2013, but he can also return to do it all again in the next tournament in a different country, on a different court surface.
Apparently, Novak Djokovic’s diet has been a crucial factor in maintaining his athletic physique. After eliminating gluten and sugar from his diet in 2011, Djokovic has gone from one to 24 Grand Slams and the Serbian has continued to advocate for healthy products.
Djokovic to promote new product during Australian tour
In recent weeks, Novak Djokovic has been hailed as the GOAT of Tennis following his win at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. The Serbian claimed his record 7th title at the event, breaking Roger Federer’s record. He earlier won his 24th Grand Slam in September making him the men’s player with the highest major titles.
However, Novak Djokovic is all set to launch a new sports hydrating drink during his time competing in Australia early next year according to Tennismajors. The 36-year-old will kick off his 2024 season in a spectacular show at the second edition of the United Cup where Serbia will participate in the mixed-gender team competition.
The event will officially commence on December 29, 2023, and will run till January 7, 2024. Djokovic has not given a date for when he will launch the product, but it is believed that it will be in between the week break that follows after the United Cup and the commencement of the Australian Open.
“I need some time to really think it through, to look at things from a broader perspective – where is my current place in tennis, sports in general, the world in general. There are a lot of things we have to take into consideration so that my brand continues to grow,” Djokovic said.
“I had a break in tournaments from the US Open to Bercy (Paris Masters), so I had time to dedicate myself more to those things. I attended many events that mean a lot for my brand and my presence in that world. The news I can give you right now is that during my time in Australia, I will promote a new business. It is a new sports hydrating drink – that’s going to be the start, but that brand will consist of a lot of wellness products, so I am looking forward to that,” Djokovic added.
Novak Djokovic also revealed that he wants to keep his current coaching team intact for the 2024 season which comprises of Goran Ivanisevic (coach), Carlos Gomez Herrera (coach and sparring partner), Miljan Amanovic (physiotherapist), Marco Panichi (fitness coach), Claudio Zimaglila (physiotherapist).
Djokovic secures World No.1 status unchallenged until Australian Open
In Turin, Djokovic set a new record, becoming the only player in history with seven ATP Finals titles. Also, after winning his 40th Masters 1000 at Paris-Bercy, Novak Djokovic needed to win only one game at the season finale event to cement world No. 1 year-end status.
Djokovic won the game in style after defeating Holger Rune in the first match of the Green Group, making sure that the battle will be left open again at the Australian Open 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz, who finished second was in the world No. 1 position for about 18 weeks but gifted the position to Djokovic after consecutive losses that spanned from the Cincinnati Open to the ATP Finals in Turin. However, the Spanish star would be hoping that 2024 gets better for him with no injuries.
