Lewis Hamilton and Christian Horner are engaged in a war of words that has taken over the entire Formula 1 community. Horner was earlier an object of criticism due to his involvement in a nasty joke against Lewis Hamilton. He turned the tides pretty soon through his remarks against Lewis Hamilton, and now F1 is undergoing a huge debate about their fiasco.
Lewis Hamilton is in a perilous situation and he has been fighting the claims put forth against him actively. It is clear that one of them is spreading stories and the current situation makes it unclear who the real culprit is.
Lewis Hamilton denies Red Bull move rumors
Lewis Hamilton had earlier sworn his loyalty to Mercedes after his contract got extended to 2025 in hopes of another world championship. He was fact-checked by Christian Horner, who revealed that Lewis’s team contacted him regarding a possible deal. Notably it was his father who made the move. Lewis Hamilton did not consider these claims owing to Christian’s nature of making of stories. On the contrary, he blamed Red Bull about contacting him for a seat instead.
“If you really think about it, there’s a lot of people here that love to drop my name in many conversations because they know it’s gonna make waves,” he remarked. “And if you are a little bit lonely, and are not getting much attention, that’s the perfect thing to do, just mention my name.”
Further, he explained his situation about any possible relations with Red Bull or Christian Horner are limited to a congratulations message on his phone, “Initially I just replied on my new phone, ‘Congratulations on an amazing season and I hope we are able to compete with you soon’. And he replied repeating the same thing.”
F1 pundit suggests both Horner and Hamilton withholding truth in Red Bull saga
While, both Lewis Hamilton and Christian Horner are bringing up contrasting arguments against each other, some people think that the truth is only being half told and both of them are not revealing some key facts. SKY F1 pundit Naomi Schiff is among such people and he commented about the situation diplomatically claiming that there’s more to the story, which both parties are keeping a secret.
“What I would love to know and see is the truth,” she said. “I feel as flat as you make a pancake, there’s always going to be two sides. “But one thing is they’re clearly both covering something up here. I don’t think we’ll ever really know the truth of what went down, whether it was Anthony who contacted Christian, whether it was Lewis, his old phone, whichever way it goes, we’re never going to fully know the truth.”
Schiff’s reaction give us an interesting perspective into the current situation and the important part, i.e. we shouldn’t be taking sides so early until there’s a clear, unbiased picture in view for us to decide.
Who do you think is the liar in this case though? We would love to know your opinions about the current incident, so drop them in the comments.
