NBA fans raise eyebrows at Steph Curry hyping the NBA in-season tournament in Jason Bolden-styled outfit: “must be getting a bag for this propaganda”

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was recently seen hyping up the newly introduced In-Season Tournament in a video posted by the official NBA account on Instagram.

So far, the new format has been going well, with the group stages ending soon. The teams are participating well but there is not much enthusiasm among the fans. So, when they saw Curry hyping it up, conspiracy theories started to pop up.

Stephen Curry hypes NBA In-season tournament

The Warriors’ ace Stephen Curry was recently seen hyping up the In-Season Tournament in a video. The video featured Curry walking into the Chase Arena from the basement of the facility, probably after parking his car. Curry was dressed in casual clothing, flexing his Jason Bolden style and in his walk, Curry looked at the camera and yelled to hype the newly introduced tournament format.

While walking, Steph said, “It is not just any Friday. It’s the best Friday ever.” He then yelled, “In-Season Tournament Friday!” The In-Season Tournament was added by the NBA in this 2023–24 season to encourage players to participate in more matches and to entertain fans. The tournament has huge cash prizes for winners, runner-ups, and other positions as well. LeBron James was also hyped up for the Tournament after his game and expressed his desire to win the whole thing.

Fans hatch conspiracy theory Curry’s shout-out

After Stephen Curry yelled, ”In-Season Tournament Friday!” the fans started to frame conspiracy theories behind the Warriors star’s actions. The introduction of the tournament was always a mixed bag for the fans; some of them liked it, while others believed that it would disrupt the regular season and could possibly lead to an overworking experience for the players.

Curry’s actions motivated the fans to find the true reason behind the star’s deliberate attempt to hype the new tournament. One fan commented on the video, “Steph must be getting a bag for this propaganda” hinting that Curry had received promotional money from the NBA to hype the tournament so that it would get more engagement.

Other fans also abided by the theory that Steph was paid by the NBA and his actions were a promotional stunt orchestrated by the NBA to hype up the In-Season Tournament that hasn’t been getting much love. A fan commented, “They paying him extra to keep this energy about the tournament.” While another fan commented, “Bro doing the most for this tournament, I can see the extra bag.”
