NFL Rumors: Steelers WR Diontae Johnson and teammate Minkah Fitzpatrick were involved in heated locker room altercation

As the season approaches, tension among the teams and fans is going high to see the Lombardi Trophy winner of this season. With a poor offense, the Pittsburgh Steelers appeared to be already out of the race, as demonstrated once more by their loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.

Following the loss, even the players on the team could not pull themselves together. Among them, the frustration of Diontae Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick was notable as they engaged in a brawl between themselves following the game.

Diontae Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick in a heated altercation

The Pittsburgh Steelers, coming off a disheartening loss to the Cleveland Browns, found themselves dealing with internal tensions between their wide receiver and safety. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he reported on the intense exchange, providing insight into Johnson’s visible frustration both on the sidelines during the game and in the post-game aftermath.

The Steelers’ second-leading receiver had only two catches in the game against the Browns, and his dissatisfaction was apparent throughout. The disagreement spilled over into the locker room, where Fitzpatrick confronted Johnson. According to sources, it was reported that Johnson still harbored some resentment towards the coaches and safety.

Tensions reached a boiling point between Johnson and Fitzpatrick, prompting veterans T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward to intervene.

They emphasized the importance of unity within the team during this frustrating situation. This incident follows a pattern of on-field frustrations for Johnson, marking the second consecutive week where his emotions have gotten the better of him.

Steeler’s poor performances this season NFL continue

The Pittsburgh team’s season started with a blowout 7-30 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Since then, the team has hardly satisfied their fans’ lofty expectations for them, leading them to chant “Fire Canada.”

Amidst a challenging season, even Dean Norris, renowned for portraying Hank in the acclaimed TV series “Breaking Bad,” stepped up to encourage the team’s supporters. Despite maintaining a steadfast tie with Canada, the team recently made a significant change by parting ways with the offensive coordinator, a decision made while holding the No. 3 seed with a 6-5 record.

The team’s defensive strategy played a pivotal role in securing these six victories, considering their offensive statistics rank 28th in the NFL for scoring, 31st in passing, and 25th in third-down and red-zone efficiency.

“We’re getting ready to play a football game and win this week, that is the only agenda here. (It’s) not big picture and 2024 and all of that. This organization is not wired like that,” Mike Tomlin uttered, expressing his confidence in having a winning streak following Canada’s dismissal, per AP News.

It may bring good luck for the Steelers, like the Las Vegas Raiders, as they won two of their last three games after firing Josh McDaniels.

The Steelers are scheduled to battle the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. What are your game predictions? Let us know in the comment box.
