Recently, a video of Drew McIntyre has started surfacing on the Internet, as the Scottish superstar was seen storming out of the arena just before CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

McIntyre was a member of Judgment Day’s WarGames team on that PLE. They faced off against the newly formed alliance of Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins. Sadly, the match ended with Drew McIntyre and Judgment Day tasting defeat.

After the match, McIntyre was observed hastily leaving the arena during the celebration of Rhodes’s team. Just moments after the Scottish superstar’s departure, former AEW champion CM Punk made a shocking appearance in the arena, marking his return to WWE after almost a decade.

The Second City Saint received a loud ovation from the fans in attendance. Fans are now speculating that McIntyre, like Seth Rollins, is unhappy about Punk’s return to WWE. However, there could be another reason behind it, as WWE hasn’t officially announced anything regarding McIntyre’s feelings.

McIntyre’s WWE contract deadline approaches

As the deadline for Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract approaches, fans are getting concerned over his future in the promotion. In a recent report, it was claimed that WWE is still trying to keep him in their company because of his performance.

A PW Insider recently reported that McIntyre has turned heel and appears to be on the losing end. Now, questions have arisen regarding the status of his WWE contract. His current WWE contract will expire after WrestleMania 40. The good news is that it seems that extensive discussions are currently going on for his contract renewal.

“We have heard of late that McIntyre has told those close to him that he is more than willing to let his current deal lapse if necessary and take a break for his family, as they recently suffered the loss of his wife’s sister. We are also told that McIntyre has long stated to those he’s friends with that he’d like the chance to spend some extended time back in Scotland, as it’s been many years since he’s had the chance to have more than a quick visit with his family there as he lives full-time in the United States,” said the Insider.

It was further noted that Drew McIntyre prioritizes family if a choice must be made between the two. Only time will tell if the Scottish superstar stays in the Stamford-based promotion.
