The Nigerian forward was the star of the show Napoli pulled last season to land their first Scudetto since 1990, with the former Lille forward scoring 31 goals in 39 games across all competitions to be ranked among some of the best finishers in Europe.
Things haven’t gone well for Napoli this season, and they’ve already axed Rudi Garcia as their manager. The Naples-based club also had some issues with Osimhen earlier this season after the Nigerian forward missed a penalty, with the club seemingly mocking the Nigerian on their TikTok account.
The lack of support within the club has led to reports of Osimhen being ready to move from the club, with Chelsea ready to swoop in and land the forward.
In a podcast appearance with compatriot and former Nigerian international John Obi Mikel, Victor Osimhen revealed he holds Chelsea and Manchester United in high regard, as these are the most commonly supported teams in Africa.
“I don’t have a favorite PL team, but I have two jerseys: Chelsea and Man United. Many friends of mine are Chelsea fans, few are Man Utd fans. Premier League is the most appreciated league by every African player – it’s just a huge league,” the Nigerian forward revealed per Sportbible.

Despite spending a huge sum on new signings in the last three transfer windows since Todd Boehly has taken over the club, Chelsea are still 10th in the Premier League, losing two and drawing two from their last five league games.

Not minding the setback, Chelsea are already looking forward to next summer with a clear plan to raid Napoli for their prolific forward Victor Osimhen, who is reportedly interested in the move.
