He sweetened the whopping deal by promising breakfast and coffee delivery from his restaurant as a daily treat for the NFL star.
“I will give you $500,000 cash upon arrival just for shopping or whatever you want, as well as matching that same amount as a donation to both of our high schools, both Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights, as well as everyday breakfast and coffee delivery from my restaurant if you would just come home and put on these colors right here,” he said per People.
The 34-year-old Chiefs veteran acknowledged his initial aspiration to play for his hometown and admitted that the allure of returning to Cleveland did strike a chord. However, his loyalty to the Chiefs remained resolute, as he mentioned the “situation’s really good in Kansas City.”
