Neymar Jr is one of soccer’s most famous players in the current era. The Brazilian became a superstar as a teenager, ranking amongst the world’s best players even before he moved to Europe while playing for his native club Santos in Brazil. That’s how highly everyone thought and spoke of him, and a move to Barcelona did wonders for his growth.
Sadly, at 31, Neymar has been deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Enrique at PSG, who paid the world transfer record fee to sign the Brazilian in 2017. With Neymar’s move away from PSG imminent, clubs are now circling the Brazilian to snap him up.
PSG star Neymar Jr’s formal contract with Al-Hilal is close
A player of Neymar’s talents and global appeal will probably never run out of contract offers on his table. The former Santos superstar was a subject of interest from his former club Barcelona. Xavi refused to comment on those rumors last week, but there was visible interest in reuniting with his former teammate.
Neymar Jr has now reportedly received a formal contract from Saudi Arabia-based Al-Hilal. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi-based club is preparing a deal to be signed by Neymar this week after receiving a green light from the Brazilian, who has shown interest in the move to the Gulf club.

Al-Hilal lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup two days ago, with the Portuguese forward netting a brace to help his club overcome the other Saudi Arabian franchise. Al-Hilal already boasts a team that includes Ruben Neves, Malcolm, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Having Neymar in the mix could strengthen them further ahead of the new Saudi Pro League season.
With Saudi Arabia receiving more world-class players from Europe, the league’s quality is expected to improve. The league already has two Ballon d’Or winners, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, and more superstars joining should help make the league more competitive than ever.
What are Neymar Jr’s Al-Hilal contract rumors?
Neymar Jr is already one of the highest-paid athletes in the world but is set to jump some spots in the rankings with his new deal with Al-Hilal. According to Forbes, Neymar will earn a reported $98.5 million yearly with the Saudi club, including sponsorship deals and many more. The Brazilian remains one of football’s most marketable players, and Al-Hilal will probably give him a contract that matches his global appeal.
Neymar Jr is the third most-followed footballer on Instagram, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and his popularity should help bring more attention to the Saudi Pro League.
