Alexis Ohanian is a well-known business figure, with his claim to fame being co-founding the social media thread app Reddit. A high-profile figure in the corporate world, Ohanian has invested in many companies across various industries.
In 2017, he also entered the spotlight in the sporting world after marrying tennis player Serena Williams. An active supporter of the retired superstar during her matches, Alexis has now championed investment in women’s sports by vocally extolling its benefits at a major company’s product launch.

Alexis Ohanian was present at Tesla’s Cybertruck delivery event in Austin, Texas. CEO Elon Musk hosted the delivery event at the company’s factory and showcased its towing abilities, bulletproof doors, and straight-line speed.
Alexis made a bold statement to the media and private sector executives present at the event by wearing a jacket with the words, “Invest in Women’s Sports” written on its back.
The statement comes from a personal place for the American and he is taking every opportunity to support his wife’s career. Serena Williams is a 23-time grand slam champion and a legend in the sport, and thus Ohanian’s support for the industry will be backed up by close circles.
Alexis Ohanian most recently took to Twitter to share a card collection he possessed of Serena, and the pair are a power couple who seamlessly blend sports and business through their relationship.
How did Serena meet her husband?
A chance meeting between Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian resulted in a fairytale story of love, connection, and marriage.
The pair first met in 2015 at a hotel in Rome. Alexis was in town for a business event, while Serena was participating in the Italian Open. They met in the restaurant, where Alexis was seated by himself and had trouble eating peacefully due to the nuisance of a nearby rat.
He approached Serena Williams, who offered Ohanian a seat at her table. And that set in motion a series of meetings between the pair, who soon turned into a couple.
Alexis Ohanian would propose to Serena a year later, and they would get hitched in New Orleans. Their first daughter was born in 2017, and a second daughter followed in 2023.
“2 years and counting…. @alexisohanian is still putting up with me,” Serena Williams wrote on Twitter to commemorate their anniversary.
The pair now reside in a multi-million dollar mansion in Florida with their two children. The house has a karaoke room, an art-gallery and a walk-in wardrobe that houses Serena’s favorite fashion items.
Alexis Ohanian is a busy man and constantly travels the world for business meetings when not spending quality time with family at home.
