Jets release ex-Green Bay teammate of Rodgers
The New York Jets made a decision on Saturday when they released Adrian Amos, a backup safety. Amos, who had been a starter for eight years with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers, had taken on a role with the Jets.

Amos played 248 defensive snaps. However, his playing time had been decreasing for weeks, leading to what sources described as a parting of ways. The Jets chose to release Amos in order to give opportunities to backups Ashtyn Davis and Jarrick Bernard Converse.
In June, Amos signed a one-year contract for $1.75 million that was fully guaranteed after projected starter Chuck Clark suffered a season-ending injury. Although he also contributed to teams during his 11 games, with the team, Amos managed to make 23 tackles and defend one pass.
Rodgers unlikely to play this year despite positive week
Aaron Rodgers was recently spotted running onto the training ground of the New York Jets after achieving a partial recovery. Although the 40-year-old is feeling a lot better than he did at the start of the season, these are still early days to predict his eventual return to the gridiron.
If the New York Jets are knocked out of contention for the playoff spots, that decreases the chances of Rodgers showing up on the pitch even further, as the team would have nothing worth risking their star QB for.
Rodgers insinuated as much this past week, saying it would be a risk for him to play when he’s not 100% healthy. “If we are out of it, I would be surprised if they OK’d that to come back,” he told reporters. Indeed.
