Despite his winless streak, Hamilton’s respect and position within the Formula One remains intact. This is evident in his financial standing  , as he holds the second spot  on teh top list earning drivers, behind Max Verstappen.

His journey towards financial supremacy started in 2015 when he had a groundbreaking contract extension with Mercedes, boasting a staggering value of $140 million.

Since then, Hamilton’s financial earnings have earned prosperity, each with a substantial worth of $100 million dollars. This consistent flow of high-value contracts has consistently ranked him among the highest-earning athletes on the international stage.

The British driver’s annual earnings from these contracts have amounted to a substantial sum of $55 million per season. Such figures not only underscore his prowess on the racetrack but also highlight his marketability and value to the Mercedes team.

As the seven-time World Champion marks a decade with the German team this season, recent reports circulating within the Formula One circuit suggest that the 38-year-old decided to extend his contract for another two years, giving him the chance to become the highest-paid driver once again.

How much did George Russell earn?

As the global popularity of Formula One continues  to rise, drivers find themselves reaping substantial financial awards each season. Even for those not at the pinnacle of sports, the reported salaries for the 19 full-time drivers indicate a baseline of at least $1 million.

Earlier, George Russell’s earnings accumulated a total of $10 million. This sum can be broken down into a $3 million salary base and an additional $7 million in bonuses.

However, recent updates reveal a modification in Russell’s bonus, which now stands at $8 million for the current season. This adjustment reflects the dynamic nature of contractual agreements in Formula One, influenced by team expectations, driver performance, and many more factors. Russell had to pay the price due to being unable to catch up with Red Bull this year.
