Kurt Zouma’s $3 million home robbed by armed gang
Kurt Zouma has been left ‘traumatized’ after armed burglars broke into his home, carting away £100,000 worth of valuables, including cash. The Frenchman, who is now the captain of David Moyes’ West Ham, had his high-end house robbed on Saturday night while he was at home with his wife and four kids.
This is coming just weeks after his wife gave birth to their fourth child, and there’s no denying how traumatizing the experience would be for the family of six. Due to the break-in, Kurt Zouma missed his team’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday, with cops swarming the neighborhood in a bid to keep everyone else safe, including Zouma’s family.
One source close to the 29-year-old mentioned how the attack left him and his family ‘traumatized’.
“They were an aggressive and organized gang – and the house was completely ransacked,” the source said.
“Kurt and his family were put through a horrific ordeal and are still struggling to speak about what happened. Everyone at the club immediately knew it was incredibly serious, as he would not have missed a game otherwise,” the source explained further.
West Ham wants Kurt Zouma’s house burglars’ details for £25,000
West Ham has promised a reward of £25,000 to anyone who comes out with helpful information regarding the armed burglars.
“West Ham United has offered a £25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of burglars who broke into defender Kurt Zouma’s home on the eve of the club’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace this weekend,” the club said in a statement.
“Kurt’s home was broken into on Sunday while all his family were in the house, leaving everyone present extremely distressed. While thankfully no one was harmed, it was a traumatic experience for the West Ham defender, his wife, and their young family. The burglars took items of significant value and of huge personal and sentimental importance to the family. The West Ham United family continues to offer Kurt’s family their full support,” the statement concluded.
Zouma is the latest footballer to be affected after players like Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling, Joao Cancelo, Jesse Lingard, and Victor Lindelof have all been victims of home robberies in the past.
In terms of performance, West Ham, who had a £30 million bid for Harry Maguire rejected by the player in the last transfer window, are in a better position than they were this time last season, sitting ninth in the Premier League table, above Chelsea.
