After his dramatic departure from WWE in September of last year, Jeff Hardy joined AEW. Keeping up with Tony Khan’s business has been challenging for the former world champion, who even needed therapy. Hook, Top Flight, and Action Andretti are just a few of the young talents that the Hardys have helped.
After a ten-month hiatus, Jeff finally returned to AEW TV in April, overcoming several obstacles in the process. Despite his lack of activity after his homecoming, supporters were only relieved to see him again. Having said that, he has lately admitted to feeling like a ghost in AEW.
Jeff Hardy discusses frustrating AEW booking
Jeff Hardy anticipated a new start when he joined AEW from WWE, where he was unhappy. His brother Matt and he were hoping for a major push from AEW, but he got himself in trouble with the law for a DUI first. While Jeff got his act together by entering rehab and making a triumphant comeback to AEW TV in April 2023, the Hardy brothers’ positions on the AEW series have been all over the place.
Jeff feels that his momentum has slowed down, even though he got off to a good start. He recently vented his anger on “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” making comparisons to the same predicaments he had in WWE, regarding how AEW is managing him.
He said, “I didn’t know what was going to be happening shortly, but I think the last time I was in this extreme dimension of y’all’s podcast, I said that in WWE, I felt like I was a ghost, just walking around backstage.”
Hardy still suffering from visual problems
Returning to AEW activity in April, Jeff Hardy had been out for ten months due to legal issues. He assisted HOOK, Isiah Kassidy of The Firm, and his brother Matt. Pictures of him online at the time showed his bulging eye while he was getting over eye surgery.
Jeff has recently spoken out about his challenges with vision after surgery. Wrestling bouts are no problem for him, but even something as easy as watching TV while lying in bed makes him nervous.
As part of a team with Matt, Jeff is once again competing on the AEW Dynamite roster. Despite his ability to manage through matches, he continues to deal with complications related to the operation. During the 100th episode of “The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy,” Jeff discussed his struggles with eyesight.
