During his career, Chris Jericho’s attitude made him quite a few enemies. On July 10, 2022, he revealed a story from 2016 when he had a serious confrontation with Brock Lesnar, also known as The Beast of WWE.
Former WWE superstar Jericho, despite being smaller in stature, possessed massive charisma and exceptional talent, which allowed him to achieve great success inside the squared circle. One factor that added to Jericho’s legacy is that he frequently stood up for himself and his fellow wrestlers when the situation was dire.
Chris Jericho revealed the story of his backstage altercation with Brock Lesnar
In SummerSlam 2016, Brock Lesnar delivered stiff-looking elbows to Randy Orton’s exposed skull, causing him to bleed profusely. This caused a backstage confrontation with Chris Jericho, leading to speculation that Brock had gone into business for himself.
Chris Jericho immediately confronted Brock Lesnar upon his return to the gorilla position after the 2016 SummerSlam incident. During an appearance on the “True Geordie” podcast, Chris Jericho discussed the incident and explained what led him to confront the formidable WWE and UFC star backstage.
“He was just like butchering him with elbows to the head, and I didn’t know if it was planned or not, and nobody would tell me. Elbows to the side of the head can kill you. Your temple, if you get hit hard enough in the temple, you die. I was like, ‘If this is real, it’s bulls. If it has been called, it’s still bulls. He’s taking liberties and it pissed me off.’ I was in Gorilla and I was f***ing angry about it… And we got into a little bit of an issue,” said Chris Jericho.
Not many WWE superstars would dare to face Brock Lesnar, but the Demo God has no fear of going up against The Beast Incarnate.
He said, “I was like, f*ck it, I’m going to bite his fing nose off. I see this big, giant, fat nose, and I am like, I’ll bite his fing nose off; see how tough he is then. He might kill me, but he’s going to walk around for the rest of his life with no f*ing nose.”
Fortunately, Vince McMahon and Triple H intervened before the situation escalated. McMahon later reassured Chris Jericho that he had instructed Brock Lesnar to do what he did.
Brock Lesnar’s backstage fight with Kurt Angle
Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle are two of the biggest names in the world of wrestling. However, they are particularly famous for the epic rivalry they had with each other. Recently, Brock Lesnar’s former manager revealed that Kurt Angle has made some wild claims about beating The Beast in a wrestling match.
Once, backstage at WWE SmackDown, Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle fought. As per Angle, he had beaten Lesnar. However, Heyman believes that the former did not beat The Beast Incarnate. That is what Paul Heyman told Kenny McIntosh in his exclusive interview with “Inside The Ropes”.
Heyman was impressed with Angle for fighting someone bigger than him. He couldn’t say that Lesnar easily defeated Angle.
“Now Kurt Angle’s version that he beat Brock Lesnar. I haven’t heard that version from other people. It was two guys who started just kind of you know goofing around and tussling, and hey oh well you got to take down on me…oh oh oh you got to take down on me, and the next thing you know for 30 minutes they just were taking each other down, and it became a kind of a contest, and I know that I didn’t keep track.” said Heyman.
The former manager of Brock Lesnar has revealed that Lesnar and Kurt Angle were the two wrestlers that nobody wanted to face in the ring, as no one else could compete with them. WWE fans are well aware of the on-screen rivalry between Lesnar and Angle, but their relationship outside of the ring has also been a topic of discussion within the WWE Universe.
