Williams ace recounts surprise gesture from Fernando Alonso in boosting his side hustle

Fernando Alonso has an endearing personality both on and off the track. The Spaniard is often seen warming to his fans, not refusing their requests for hugs or selfies. His behavior translates to the track as well and with other drivers. Fernando supported his teammate a lot this season and it seems Lance Stroll wasn’t the only one who got his backing.

Fernando Alonso is the oldest driver on the track currently and with the level of performance he has shown, Nando has been a role model for many drivers racing currently. However, he recently did something for Alex Albon that melted the heart of the Williams ace.

Alonso supported Alex Albon’s side hustle in style

Many Formula 1 drivers launch their own brands, in hopes of attracting fans and to create a side hustle from their hobby. Alex Albon joined the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel by launching his own apparel brand.

Alex Albon has launched his own shoes which he has been promoting for months now and even though he hasn’t gifted them to other drivers, there was someone who took notice of his brand.

Alex shared a video where he was talking about the struggles of launching a shoe brand with teammate Logan Sargeant. In the video he could be seen explaining his choice about not sending it out to other drivers. He called it ‘cringy’, yet he couldn’t bring himself to say no when ‘big old man’ Fernando Alonso asked him for a pair.

What mattered most to Alex was that Fernando didn’t stay silent about his kicks and used social media to endorse Alex’ products.

Alex Albon was moved by Alonso’s gesture when he put up stories wearing Albon’s shoes and he was more than elated to have him onboard with his new venture.

German fashion brand Boss names Fernando Alonso brand ambassador

Alex Albon is known to be a quick-witted person and he humorously replied to Fernando’s story by tagging him and calling him a brand ambassador for his brand. Alex Albon put up a story on Instagram, where Fernando Alonso could be seen wearing his shoes and applauding Alex for the quality product.

Meanwhile, German fashion titan Boss has moved for Alonso and have named the F1 star their brand ambassador. Boss has been the ‘official fashion partner’ of Aston Martin since 2022, and the brand has now signed Fernando Alonso as their brand ambassador from the F1 scene.

Fernando Alonso has garnered a lot of respect this season, even from cutthroat rivals like Helmut Marko, who called him a potential rival to Max Verstappen.

In fact, the Spaniard has had such a good year that he has given up on retiring and wants to continue in Formula 1, hopefully for another joust at the title with a new generation of drivers. His race-craft was visible during his battle with Sergio Perez as they fought for the podium in Brazilian GP of 2023.
