Chris Paul disputes rumors of Adam Silver intervention amid Scott Foster dispute

The veteran NBA star Chris Paul has earned wide recognition as one of the greatest point guards of all time. CP3 has earned numerous achievements and accolades, which reflect his on-court prowess. However, his trade to the Golden State Warriors brought worries considering his age, as a younger Jordan Poole became a victim of that trade.

Meanwhile, Chris Paul and NBA official Scott Foster share a longtime feud, which seems to wax stronger by the day, and has sparked great concern. While the feud has attracted top-level attention, CP3 has bluntly denied the NBA’s involvement in the feud.

Chris Paul denies Adam Silver’s intervention in Scott Foster’s dispute

The feud between Chris Paul and NBA official Scott Foster, which was ignited last month, has taken a new turn, as Paul claims not to have received any communication from Commissioner Adam Silver or the league. Paul made this claim after the Warriors’ 110-106 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Chris Paul said, “But nobody texted, called, or nothing since it happened. I don’t know. I haven’t talked to Adam, Bryon, nobody.”

The feud was fueled during the Warriors’ clash with the Suns last month, in which Foster ejected Paul, and prompted Chris Paul to describe his feud with Foster as a “Personal” matter.

Meanwhile, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver held a public address, in which he emphasized the level of professionalism expected from Paul and Foster. But Chris Paul has recently stated that there has been no communication between him, Foster, and the league since 22 November. Furthermore, Adam Silver, having acknowledged the long-standing history between Foster and Paul, pointed out the need for them to carry out their functions professionally, but Paul remains unsure of any substantial changes.

Chris Paul-Scott Foster feud

The NBA fans are quite aware of the long-standing dispute between point guard Chris Paul and referee Scott Foster. Paul infamously holds a 3-17 record in playoff games which Foster has officiated.

Chris Paul’s dispute with Foster dates back to his first playoff run, in his third career year for the Hornets. The Hornets eventually lost Game 7, with Foster officiating the loss. Later in the 2020 NBA playoffs, CP3 revealed that Foster reminded him that he was officiating when he lost the Game 7.

When Chris Paul was traded to the Rockets, his beef with Foster became more public. The Rockets reportedly went 0-6 in the playoff outings officiated by Foster. Paul, after his technical foul in January 2018, said that the officiating was “Scott Foster at his finest.”

James Harden and Paul, after a loss in February 2019, said that Foster shouldn’t be allowed to officiate the Rockets games anymore.

After being traded to the Thunder, Chris Paul experienced a loss against the Rockets in game 7 and criticized Foster for whistling him for a delay of game call. Paul again criticized Foster after a game 3 loss against the Lakers while playing for the Suns, in which Paul cited Foster’s action in games he officiates. While Chris Paul awaits Commissioner Adam Silver or the league’s call, his future relationship with Foster and the possible resolution of the feud remains uncertain.
