Austin Reaves reveals his plans to experience Michael Jordan’s biggest passion outside NBA if Lakers win the In-season tournament

The Rising star of the Los Angeles Lakers, Austin Reaves has gained a lot of heat ever since his incredible performance at the FIBA World Cup. He has been successful in carrying that momentum to the 2023-24 NBA season as well and has been playing great for the Lakers.

He recently gave an exceptional supporting performance in the Match against the New Orleans Pelicans, allowing LeBron James to dominate the Pelicans and lead the team to the finals of the In-Season Tournament. Reaves recently revealed his plans to use the prize money to experience Michael Jordan’s biggest passion outside the NBA.

The Lakers recently defeated the Pelicans, securing a spot in the finals of the inaugural NBA In-Season tournament. They are set to face the Indiana Pacers in the finals, where the winner will be crowned the first-ever champion of the In-Season Tournament. Each player on the winning team will receive a hefty cash prize of $500,000, and an additional $200,000 will be awarded to each player from the teams that reached the finals.

In a post-game interview, Austin Reaves was asked about his plans for spending the prize money if the Lakers were to crown themselves as the first-ever In-Season Tournament champions. Reaves responded that he would likely invest in a golf membership at Riviera, given its excellent golf course in L.A. This plan aligns with many professional athletes, including Michael Jordan, who have shown interest in playing golf for leisure.

Lakers star gets challenged by golf aficionado Charles Barkley

After the footage of the post-game interview was released, NBA legend and popular sports analyst Charles Barkley challenged the Lakers star Austin Reaves to play golf with him. Barkley is such an avid golf lover that one could easily label him a golf aficionado. He openly challenged Reaves on live television in his typical dramatic fashion, a style familiar to fans of TNT’s Inside the NBA show.

Barkley said, “Austin Reaves, I want all the smoke, I come to Oklahoma, I come anywhere. I will come to L.A. but it is too crowded there. I want to come to Oklahoma this summer, I wanna play you.”

Reaves has not responded to this challenge in any way whatsoever and it is highly unlikely that he will, given that it looked like an entertainment stint by Barkley to entertain the fans on Television.

What do you think of Austin Reaves’ plan for the prize money? Do you think that Reaves and Barkley should face off at golf? We are eager to know your opinions, so drop them down in the comments box and let us know.
