WWE superstar Dominik Mysterio had a tough time at the NXT Deadline event yesterday as he lost his NXT North American Championship title. He entered the ring without any support from his Judgment Day allies, including Rhea Ripley.
Dominik was understandably angry and frustrated that his Judgment Day friends were not there to support him. He felt devastated over the sting of his title loss for the second time, although last time he had a little bit of support, but this time he was left alone.
Dominik Mysterio vents on Judgment Day after NXT Deadline loss
Dominik Mysterio has won the NXT North American Championship twice in the past. However, the last time he lost the title, he did not have Rhea Ripley by his side.
A similar situation occurred recently at the NXT Deadline when he had to defend his title against Dragon Lee without Mami’s support. This was an unfamiliar situation for Mysterio, as he was also not accompanied by the rest of Judgment Day. Adding to his surprise, his father, Rey Mysterio, was present at the ringside to cheer on Dragon Lee.
After Lee beat him for the NXT North American Championship title, Dominik Mysterio was furious about being alone and left out by the members of his faction. Recently, WWE uploaded a clip on their social media handles in which Dominik was seen questioning where Judgment Day was.
“You all saw what happened to me out there. I am the greatest NXT North American Champion that’s ever been. Dragon Lee, my deadbeat dad? Where’s Judgment Day? Where’s Finn? Where are Damian, JD, and Mami? You know what? I’m gonna go home to Mami because Judgment Day runs all day, and this shouldn’t be happening,” said Dominik Mysterio.
Dominik earns Randy Orton’s praise
During a recent appearance on the “IMPaulsive” podcast with WWE star Logan Paul, Randy Orton discussed Dominik Mysterio’s success as a solo wrestler over the past year, despite being in his father’s shadow.
The Viper expressed his gratitude to Rey Mysterio for helping him in the early days of his WWE career and appreciated the fact that the Master of 619 is also one of the calmest WWE superstars. He also said that he was very happy to fight against Dominik Mysterio, and it was a very proud moment for him.
“I think it’s all because of the mullet; I do. So, his dad and I are tight, and you’ve worked with Rey; you met Rey. Rey is probably the only guy back there who’s friendlier than Omos. Rey took care of me back in the day, and for me, I wrestled Dom last Monday night on Raw; I don’t know if you guys saw it or not. But it was such a pleasure to be out there with him and to be out there knowing, Oh my god, I know your dad’s at home watching; I want to make your dad proud,” said Randy Orton.
The Legend Killer also appreciated Dominik and said that he was very proud of the rising superstar. He said, “It was a great feeling. I am so proud of Dom as well. I know exactly what you’re talking about. When he first started coming up and Rey brought him around, it was like, ‘This kid needs another f***ing 10 years and he needs to go fight in a war or something and come back grizzled.’”
