He further said that there was an agreement in place and they were already ready to join the club. However, Chelsea pulled out of the deal as they thought the price was too high for a 16 year old. Eventually, the deal with Real Madrid happened.

He had previously said, “Messi is a great player, but I’m more of a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. Now I’m seeing Messi up close, it’s going to be wonderful. It’s a great pride knowing that I’ll wear the same shirt as Cristiano.”
