Frank Wycheck died on Saturday morning inside his Chattanooga, Tennessee home. According to his family statement, the veteran fell inside his house after hitting his head and was found unresponsive that afternoon. Born on October 14, 1971, in Pennsylvania, he was 52 at the time of death, per NFL.com.
Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk expressed the collective devastation by discussing the football player’s pivotal role in the team’s success and his immediate connection with the community. She said he was always open, making key plays and being a “part of a Miracle.”
“Frank’s name was synonymous with Titans football. He was such a huge part of our team’s success both on and off the field. He embraced this community and fan base immediately, and everyone loved him right back.”
The former Titans star also remained a fan of Ryan sports, and the school mourned his untimely death on social media.
“It is with a heavy heart to share the sudden passing of Frank Wycheck ‘89′. Frank had a storied career in the NFL and left quite a legacy at Archbishop Ryan. Our entire community will keep Frank and his family in our prayers.”
