Jericho reveals two words he cannot stand

Jericho began his professional wrestling career in 1990, and quickly rose to prominence in Mexico and Japan. In 1999, Jericho signed with the WWE and won the Undisputed WWF Championship in 2001, becoming the first-ever Undisputed Champion.

After spending nearly 20 years in WWE, Jericho was looking for a new challenge and a chance to build something new. He felt that AEW offered him the chance to be a part of something special.

In a recent interview, Jericho said, “There two words from wrestling fans in hate. One is fake. So there is nothing about what we do its pre-determined. But fake is not a good word. Another word is botch. He botched this, he botched that.”

He also added, “There is no such a thing really fake. You are out there, one take live. No, its something that happens in the course of live sporting event, right. So both those things bother me”. Jericho has mentioned that he hates the word botch last year in an interview, explaining that mistakes happen in other forms of live art as well.

Jericho faces backlash over comments on Chris Benoit

Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho, shared a long and complicated relationship, marked by both friendship and rivalry. Both Benoit and Jericho began their careers in the early 1990s, quickly establishing themselves as technical wrestlers with high-flying abilities.

Benoit’s career came to a tragic end in 2007 when he was involved in a double-murder suicide, killing his wife Nancy and son Daniel before taking his own life. This event sent shockwaves through the wrestling world and forever tarnished Benoit’s legacy.

In a resurfaced audio clip from his podcast “Talk is Jericho”, Jericho made controversial remarks regarding Benoit. Jericho said, “But the thing for me, Sandy, is like, listen, anybody that’s ever been in a relationship or married, like, you can understand if, in a moment of rage, you can’t agree with it, but you could understand how, someone could, you know, kill their wife.”

Many wrestling fans slammed Jericho in social media for his controversial talks. This is not the first time Jericho has come under fire for his comments on Benoit. In 2016, he was criticized for dedicating a match to Benoit and other deceased wrestlers. At the time, Jericho stated that he understood the controversy but that he would continue to honor Benoit’s memory.

The Chris Benoit tragedy remains one of the darkest chapters in wrestling history. Jericho’s comments have re-opened old wounds and sparked a debate about how to remember and honor wrestlers who have committed serious crimes. While Chris Jericho’s talent and legacy in wrestling are undeniable, his comments on Chris Benoit continue to generate controversy and raise complex ethical questions.
