Marcus Rashford’s off-field move mirrors Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho’s choice of representation amid poor form

The global popularity of sports is unparalleled, and players with a widespread fanbase often consider it essential to secure the services of a Public Relations agency. It plays a pivotal role in overseeing the profiles of sports clubs, players, and stakeholders.

Public Relations involves establishing positive connections with the media, engaging with fans, and securing additional brand deals and revenue. Recently, Manchester United’s star, Marcus Rashford, has sought the services of a new PR agency for the same purpose.

Rashford aligns with Ronaldo and Sancho in off-field decision

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been one of their key players in the past few seasons. However, this term has been more of a letdown for him. He has struggled to rediscover his form on the field and has been in poor form this season. Moreover, off the field, Rashford finds himself entangled in controversies more frequently in recent times.

According to the Daily Mail, the English international has joined a new PR agency to represent him. Interestingly, it’s the same agency that manages the profiles of Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo, along with clients like Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Mason Mount, another teammate, has recently moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea this summer and is also affiliated with the same PR firm. Additionally, Rashford, currently earning £ 375k a week, holds the position of the highest-paid member of the club.

However, Ronaldo ended his term with United on a bitter note, and Jadon Sancho was axed from the first team. A similar story unfolded with the French defender, who has been given limited opportunities. What they all have in common is a feud with Erik ten Hag and, coincidentally, the same PR agency.

Fortunately, Rashford is backed up by the boss despite his poor form. Thus, his joining the firm won’t be an alarming sign for the player and the club. It is also believed that the company has a good relationship with the club.

Jamie Carragher labels Marcus Rashford’s performance ‘unacceptable’

Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool icon and Sky Sports pundit, has voiced his frustration over the 26-year-old’s disappointing form. Carragher slammed the forward and went on to make a comparison between him and Antony Martial, another attacking figure who has not been delivering performances for his club.

He said, “Watching Marcus Rashford now, he’s reminding me of Martial and that’s the worst possible thing you can say about him – a foreign player who comes in, hasn’t done the business, doesn’t care really and that’s just a fact with Martial.”

“Marcus Rashford is now looking like Anthony Martial and as a local player it’s your job to drag those other players up and if your confidence is down or if you’re not scoring goals or creating assists, you’re a problem.”

He added, “You do not stop running for that badge and that shirt and your supporters because you’re supposedly one of them and what he did last night was nowhere near acceptable. I know he cares but it’s not enough.”

The 61-year-old’s comments came after Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on December 2nd, during which Rashford was subbed off in the 61st minute. Marcus Rashford has only scored twice this season in a total of 20 appearances across all competitions. Moreover, he missed the UCL match against Bayern Munich due to injury.
