Liverpool has been fending off Saudi Arabian attempts to snatch Mohamed Salah since the summer transfer window, despite Al Ittihad’s readiness to pay a whopping £200 million for the winger.
The dynamics of Salah’s transfer were perceived to have changed slightly when it was recently reported that Liverpool was plotting to cash in on Mohamed Salah in order to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG, but the Saudi Arabian transfer chief has just admitted that the possibility of a January move for Mohamed Salah is highly unlikely.
Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future clarified
The Saudi Pro League’s transfer chief has indicated that Mohamed Salah is unlikely to depart from Liverpool in the upcoming January transfer window. Despite an audacious move by Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window, offering £150 million for the talented attacker, Liverpool rejected the offer. Salah, who signed a long-term contract with Liverpool last year, remains a crucial part of the team.
However, it appears that the Saudi Pro League will continue to hunt for Mohamed Salah. The rejections they have so far encountered in his chase will not dissuade them from further moving desperately from the Egyptian talisman, just like they have always done. Though the league’s director of football has expressed that it is highly unlikely that Mohamed Salah will be on the move in January.
“Mo Salah, like [Lionel] Messi, [Karim] Benzema, [Cristiano] Ronaldo and the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, these are players that when there is a sense of availability for them, we are willing to listen,” he told told Sky Sports News.
“But we also understand that Mo is happy where he is at present and in a historic, wonderful club at Liverpool. We respect that very much and we don’t want to come across as putting any pressure on him.
But if there is any interest to do something, Mo Salah is a player that you want in your league, in any league. We respect Liverpool and in this scenario, the initiative to do anything won’t come from us. There has to be an aligned interest from all parties involved.”

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed his belief that Mohamed Salah will be remembered for more than just his remarkable goals and assists once he retires. Salah has been a key player for Liverpool, contributing significantly to the team’s success with his goal-scoring prowess and assists.
Trent Alexander Arnold is known for his goal scoring prowess. He reached a significant milestone recently, scoring his 200th goal for the club in his 150th appearance in the Premier League against Crystal Palace. Trent Alexander Arnold in awe of the Egyptian talisman said the following:
“It’s probably the people who see him on a day-to-day, who see the work that goes into it, the way he applies himself to the game, the respect he’s got for the game is the true testament to what he’s achieved.
“The goals, the assists and the numbers will always speak for themselves but when I’m hopefully old enough and lucky enough to have kids and grandkids, its not the goals and assists I’ll talk about, it will be the way he applied himself and the inspiration he was to the players around him and the role model and leader he was.
“The most professional player I’ve been privileged enough to share the pitch with. The hardest working, the most dedicated to his craft. This hasn’t just happened overnight for him, he’s worked extremely hard and he reaps the rewards for it but he’s someone who will go down in the history of the club, the league and probably football for what he’s gone on to achieve.”
From Trent’s comments, it is apparent what great example Mohamed Salah has been to the Liverpool squad and especially to Trent Alexander Arnold himself.
