The New York Jets are working to strengthen their roster in an effort to maintain the former Packers’ dominance after acquiring Aaron Rodgers in a highly anticipated and long-awaited move.
The Jets’ have agreed upon a massive contract extension with a record-breaking figure with their three years veteran player Quinnen Williams on a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old was selected by the Jets with the third overall choice in the 2019 NFL Draft, and since then, his powerful arm has helped the team’s defense thrive. Under his direction, the New York team’s defense finished fourth in terms of yards and points allowed last season.
The team’s only option to maintain the level is to keep the superstar on the roster, which they did by giving him a four-year contract extension. The defensive tackle thanked his team and his supporters with a touching message after the news of the restructuring contract broke. Quinnen then made a promise to give his final best efforts along with those of his brother Quincy Williams to the teams in the forthcoming season.
“The success of this organization is beyond important to me and completing this deal allows me to turn all my attention to positively impacting that,” Williams said. “I am thrilled to put forth my best efforts alongside my brothers to get prepared for this season ahead of us.”
The Alabama native is heading off a blockbuster season recording 55 total tackles, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles in the 2022 season. Since his rookie year, it has come out as his best record so far which enabled him to earn first-team All-pro honors in 2023.
Williams agreed to a four-year, $96 million contract extension with the Jets
The Jets announced Thursday that they agreed to a four-year, $96 million contract extension with Williams that contains $66 million in guaranteed money. With the agreements, Quinnen has overtaken Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald as the second highest-paid defensive lineman in NFL.
The team’s general manager Joe Douglas expressed his happiness at being able to reclaim the veteran defensive tackle who had given the team so much in the way of leadership both on and off the field after the announcement of the extension contract.
“We are thrilled to secure Quinnen as a New York Jet for the foreseeable future, as he embodies everything we look for in our players,” Jets GM Joe Douglas said. “He is a leader on and off the field, who does everything asked of him and more. He is a young, ascending player who has shown a consistent ability to dominate the line of scrimmage and help this team win. We are happy to have the business of football behind us and to turn our focus to getting ready for the 2023 season.”
William surpassed $20 million per year earners Jeffery Simmons, Dexter Lawrence, Daron Payne, and Javon Hargrave with the hefty contract that will give him a $24 million average annual income.
The Jets team appears to be off to a strong start. After signing one Green Bay Packers player after another for Rodgers, they don’t sit still. Additionally, the team maintains compliance with the terms of the contracts of its veteran players.
