New York Knicks Madison Square Garden has been one the most revered arenas in the NBA, playing host to lots of celebrities each time a game is staged there. Emily Ratajkowski who is a supermodel and a former American actress recently graced one of the home matches played at MSG.
In what initially excited the fans, things did not go according to plan and the supermodel was not allowed into the arena. Reports claim that Ratajkowski was denied access to special seats during the Knicks vs LA Lakers game.
Why was Emily Ratajkowski denied entry to MSG?
Emily Ratajkowski’s regular appearances at New York Knicks NBA games might be in jeopardy after a recent misstep. The 32-year-old attended a game with Irina Shayk on November 24, but they left early, missing the Knicks’ impressive comeback from a 21-point deficit to beat the Miami Heat 100-98.
A recent report from Page Six reveals that EmRata requested complimentary seats for an NHL game featuring the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden but was denied due to leaving the previous game early.
A source clarified that Ratajkowski is still welcome at MSG, but her courtside or ringside seats may no longer be comped, as is common for many VIPs and celebrities.
Courtside tickets at MSG can be quite expensive, with a recent StubHub search showing a VIP 10-section ticket for the Christmas Day game against the Milwaukee Bucks priced at $6,052. Despite this, many celebrities often request complimentary VIP tickets. However, a rep for MSG stated, “Emily was not offered comped tickets for the Rangers. She was offered, and is welcome, to buy great seats anytime.”
Sources also emphasized that Ratajkowski can still purchase tickets for any upcoming game. Despite leaving the game early, Shayk had posted pictures of the duo on Instagram, and they were featured on the Jumbotron during the game, waving to fans.
However, leaving early, especially during such a thrilling comeback, didn’t sit well with some fans. A source mentioned that everyone saw when they left, claiming they left so early. The supermodel duo reportedly left with two minutes remaining, missing the dramatic comeback that unfolded in the final seconds.
Ratajkowski defends herself from Knicks fury
The New York Knicks are making headlines for their response to Emily Ratajkowski and Irina Shayk leaving a game early. Madison Square Garden has reportedly decided to stop providing complimentary courtside seats to Ratajkowski because of the premature departure.
The supermodels left the game with less than three minutes remaining as the Knicks were trailing the Miami Heat by 21 points. Despite the Knicks completing a remarkable comeback, fans were upset with the early exit.
Ratajkowski who initially didn’t make any comment, stated she was unaware of any issue and explained their departure was due to a childcare situation. However, unnamed sources mentioned that they didn’t appear rushed when leaving and even took time for some selfies. Ratajkowski had been seen at a Knicks game before with former boyfriend Pete Davidson.
According to Page Six, Ratajkowski was denied complimentary seats for a New York Rangers game at MSG and informed that she must purchase tickets for future events. Courtside seats, known for their high cost and scarcity, are usually difficult to get hold of. As a result, her presence at MSG any time soon, at least after this incident, seems unlikely.
