Winner of AJ Styles vs Randy Orton vs LA Knight to face Roman Reigns
Nick Aldis officially announced a triple-threat match between AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight on the January 5th episode of SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution. The winner of the match will become the number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship and will face Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 28.
On todays episode of Smackdown LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles had a heated confrontation in the ring. All three superstars were arguing about who’s going to take over Roman Reigns. Orton said that he did not care about Styles or Knight, and that he only wanted to face Reigns.
LA Knight said that he earned his opportunity fair and square, and that he would prove himself against both Styles and Orton. The three superstars then brawled in the ring, until Nick Aldis, the general manager of SmackDown, came out and announced the triple threat match on New Year’s Smackdown.
The winner of the match will have the opportunity to challenge Roman Reigns, who has been the undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over two years. Reigns is arguably the most dominant and powerful champion in WWE history, and whoever faces Reigns at the Royal Rumble will have a monumental task ahead of them.
