Who is Lucas Beraldo?
Lucas Beraldo is a young soccer player from Brazil who plays as a center back for Brazilian top-flight club Sao Paulo. The youngster is only 20 years old, but he has already become a pivotal player for his team.
He grew up through the youth team ranks of the club before finally making the move to the first team in 2021 and making his debut the next year. He became known for his impressive technical ability and his ability to handle the ball well.
He can also play comfortably in midfield, especially as a defensive midfielder. His game intelligence is far advanced, even at the age of 20 and his tactical awareness will only improve as he gains more experience.
The player has had a breakthrough season this year, playing 48 games for his team in all competitions. Beraldo joins long list of Brazilian stars to don PSG jersey
It is Paris Saint-Germain that have finally gotten their hands on Lucas Beraldo, even though Liverpool were also in advanced talks to get him. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, PSG have got the defender for a low price of just €20 million, a bargain compared to most deals. There will be no other additional fees, and Beraldo will join in this January transfer window.
All parts of the deal have already been sorted, and a medical exam is all that separates the deal from completion. PSG have completely revamped their team to bring in a lot of young players this summer after many veterans left recently.
Beraldo will join compatriot Marquinhos in PSG’s defence, and it is expected that he will pair alongside him, or even replace him in the future. He will feel right at home, with the club’s rich history with Brazilian stars. Other former Brazilian players include Thiago Silva, Neymar Jr, the legendary Ronaldinho, Dani Alves, and David Luiz among many others.
