Carlos Alcaraz admits fear of Roger Federer’s Wimbledon fate
The tension was at its peak throughout and it was especially mentally draining for both the players. This particular Grand Slam title meant so much for young Charly and iconic Nole! With so much at stake, it makes sense that neither of them were willing to give up till the very end.
While Novak was very evidently frustrated and overt about it, Charly seemed to have regained his calm after winning the second set. This raises the question of how Charly deals with the nerves and if he was that sure about defeating the Djoker himself!

Knowing Novak Djokovic’s knack for unfathomable comebacks, looks like Carlos was feeling the jitters till the very end. Just back in 2019, Novak saved himself from 2 Championship points, flipped the table around, and took the trophy home. Now, at this year’s final set, Carlos Alcaraz has reminded fans of how Nole pulled such a feat off on that same court, that too against the King of Grass, Roger Federer!
Carlos was scared that his legendary opponent would be able to flip it around anytime. The young Spaniard admits to continuously telling himself, ‘Please, don’t let that happen to you. Do whatever it takes’.
Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic in five sets
Carlos Alcaraz showed his dominance in the finals. Nole was not having anything go his way as the youngster mercilessly orchestrated some of the most scintillating winners and returns.
Even though the first set was a very easy win for the Serbinator, Charly was able to maintain his calm and come back. Winning tiebreakers has been Nole’s forte but young Carlos Alcaraz rewrote that and took the second set. The following sets were a test of the player’s physical and psychological spirit.
After putting up a gruesome fight in each game and each set, the 20-year-old was serving for the Championship. One strained stroke but Novak Djokovic hit the ball to the net. With this point, many records were broken and history was made!
