Conor McGregor, the former two-division UFC champion, has already stepped inside the boxing ring with one of the legends of the sport, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Following his defeat to Mayweather, McGregor became interested in boxing another legend, Manny Pacquiao.
However, the bout did not materialize and the two went their separate ways in their respective sports. Pacquiao and McGregor were there to witness the boxing bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, billed as the Battle of the Baddest.
Conor McGregor pushes for bout with Manny Pacquiao
Conor McGregor was recently ringside in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to watch the highly anticipated boxing event billed as Day of Reckoning. The event saw Anthony Joshua defeat Otto Walin in the main event and Joseph Parker scored an upset victory over Deontay Wilder. There McGregor was interviewed By Derek Chisora where the Irishman made his intentions clear about Pacquiao.
“How about me vs Manny in Saudi”, said McGregor to Chisora voicing his interest in fighting the Filipino Slugger. McGregor further said that Pacquiao should come up in weight and face McGregor as boxing is Pacquiao’s sport. Moreover, he even alluded that Pacquiao owes him close to $8 million due to not honoring his deal with McGregor’s management company.

It needs to be noted that the idea of a McGregor vs Pacquiao bout is not far-fetched because Conor McGregor already boxed Mayweather, one of the biggest PPV stars in boxing. Nevertheless, McGregor’s upcoming bout is most likely be inside the octagon, presumably against Michael Chandler at UFC 300.
Conor McGregor goes on rant with Cristiano Ronaldo
In Riyadh for the ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing event, Mayweather was seated ringside along with football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo has been a staple in high-profile combat sports events in Saudi Arabia ever since his move to Saudi Pro-League Club, Al Nassr. Moreover, McGregor and Ronaldo first met just before he fought Nate Diaz, and the duo even attended the birthday party of Jennifer Lopez together.
Conor McGregor was seen very animated speaking next to Ronaldo. “Tell Manny to grow a set of balls”, said the Irishman to the Portuguese superstar alluding that Manny Pacquiao is not accepting a fight with the Irishman inside the boxing ring. “Is he a man or a mouse”, McGregor further said degrading Pacquiao. Ronaldo was not all pleased with the conversation by the looks of it.
McGregor last fought at UFC 264, when he broke his leg in the trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. Poirier recently hinted interest in a fourth fight against McGregor but the buzz is very low for the fight. Moreover, fans are on the bandwagon to see Arman Tsarukyan take on Poirier at UFC 300.
