Kevin Owens, the former rival of Cena in the earlier days of WWE, once reminded Cena of a moment when he wrote an apology letter for his son Owen Steen, who was the biggest fan of Cena.
John Cena’s apology letter to Kevin Owens’ son
Owen Steen was a big fan of Cena and was waiting eagerly to shake his hand after a WWE Live show in Montreal. After the match, Cena did not come around the ring and shake hands with Owen Steen, which made him disappointed as he had been waiting for a long time.
The incident was revealed by Owens and he said, “John Cena handwrote a letter to my son, like two full pages. One time WWE had a show at the Bell Centre and I took my son. I was second row and just wanted my son to be able to shake John Cena’s hand, and when your match ended I rushed the guardrail with my son just like any other fan would, and instead of coming around the ring and shaking hands, he just left. When I told him about this incident, he said I feel terrible, please tell Owen I’m sorry.’ And the letter was John basically apologizing for that.”
Cena learned about this incident from Owens and wrote a two-page handwritten letter to Owen Steen, apologizing for not shaking his hand and expressing his admiration for him and his father. He also sent him some WWE merchandise and invited him to meet him backstage at another show.
Cena and Owens had a feud in 2015 that started when Owens, the NXT champion at the time, interrupted Cena’s United States Championship open challenge and attacked him. They had three matches, of which Cena won two. Currently, Kevin Owens is on Smackdown and will face Santos Escobar in the finals of the US Championship Tournament.

Karina Elias, Kevin Owens’ wife, clarified the confusion by revealing the height of Steen by a Instagram Story. She revealed that Owen Steen was 6 feet 6 inches tall, not 7 feet as some speculated. She also said that the internet’s reaction to her son’s height was amusing to her.
