Sasha Banks’ WWE return deal reportedly fell apart after she spoke with WWE executives

Sasha Banks is one of the four Horsewomen of the WWE Universe. She played a crucial role in the development of the female roster for the promotion and was considered one of the top superstars. However, she left WWE in 2022 after having disagreements with the creative management team of the company.

Recently, there have been rumors going around in the wrestling community about Banks possibly making a comeback to WWE. However, recent updates have suggested that these hopes have been dashed as she is not returning to her old wrestling home anytime soon.

Sasha Banks is reportedly not coming back to WWE

In May 2022, former WWE superstar Sasha Banks left the WWE Universe. There were some expectations that she would return to her former promotion, but it seems that she will stay away from the Stamford-based promotion for even longer.

It was reported earlier that there could be some changes in Mercedes Mone’s (Sasha Banks’ new ring name) discussions with various wrestling companies. Her presence at major events could generate a lot of excitement and interest.

Recently, Sean Sapp Ross of “Fightful Select” reported that WWE is not in talks with Banks for a return. While WWE had positive conversations with Mercedes Mone, they didn’t come to an agreement at this time.

“Top free agent Mercedes Mone, aka Sasha Banks, and WWE had been engaged in conversations to possibly bring her back to the company. However, WWE sources stated to Fightful Friday night that the two sides are no longer in active negotiations regarding a return. The two sides had recently been engaged in conversations about a return. We’re told the dialogue was friendly, but the back and forth failed to progress, and WWE sources claim that their side walked as a result of it.” wrote Sean Sapp Ross.

It remains to be seen if there will be any changes for Sasha Banks and her status in WWE. In the past, even major deals, such as CM Punk’s return to WWE, were only finalized a few days before the Survivor Series WarGames 2023.

Why did Sasha Banks walk out of WWE in 2022?

Last year, Sasha Banks and Naomi made headlines when they walked out of WWE before their main event match on Monday Night Raw in May. Since then, there have been numerous reports about the reasons for their walkout.

In May last year, Banks and Naomi lost their Women’s Tag Team Championship after they walked out of an episode of Monday Night Raw. Originally, the match was supposed to be a six-pack challenge. However, at a later point, the match was changed to a singles match between Becky Lynch and Asuka due to the decision of the creative team.

According to several reports, Naomi and Sasha Banks resigned from WWE due to creative differences, particularly regarding the direction of the women’s tag team titles and bookings as champions. Later, WWE released a statement claiming that the former WWE tag team walked into the office of former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, left their titles on his desk, and then left.
