The Philadelphia Eagles and veteran linebacker Myles Jack signed a one-year deal in the first week of August. The former two-way star at UCLA received first-team reps on his first day’s practice in Philadelphia and was slotted into the starting lineup of the team, albeit luck didn’t favor him and he recently fell down the depth chart. Now, Myles Jack retirement news is hitting headlines as the running back made up his mind to say bye to his NFL career.
After being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the No. 36 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jack played his first six seasons with the franchise. He spent the last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers before landing in Philadelphia.

The running back couldn’t showcase much potential during his rookie season in Jacksonville as he recorded a total of 24 tackles while starting 10 games. Nevertheless, he broke out in his second NFL campaign by recording 90 tackles along with 66 solo stops and continued the performance to reach his first career 100-tackle season with 107 stops in his third year.
The 27-year-old star marks the end of his career with 617 tackles, 6.5 sacks along with three interceptions, two forced fumbles as well as one touchdown throughout 103 regular-season games, with the majority of records coming with the Jaguars.
NFL community ridicules Myles Jack’s potential new job after retirement
Jack has recently revealed he was thinking about joining the trade school to become a plumber or an electrician before getting a call from the Eagles, per NBC Sports Philadelphia.
“I like to work. I couldn’t sit at home. I’ve been blessed to make a lot of money. I could retire and sit at the house. I want to be innovative. If a zombie apocalypse came, I want to be able to build something.”
Many fans picked the topic to throw digs at him while saying the game of football requires full commitment to the field.

However, many people were also blaming the NFL’s complex landscape for the running backs and linebackers in the league as they only can enjoy their prime for a few years and have to think of retirement after having a few seasons’ careers.
A netizen wrote, “Crazy how the NFL works, one of the youngest most promising linebackers a few years ago, now retired. Enjoy these dudes when they’re in their prime because that tenure is minuscule in the NFL.”
